Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year’s aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

This is truely the holy grail of Doppelbocks. I don’t think I could write anything that the description doesn’t already explain. A must try.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2014 Bottle, about 1 year old.
Very dark copper body, with a medium, creamy, dark beige head.
Smooth, complex aroma of nuts, dark chocolate, wood, smoke, burnt sugar, dried fruits.
Amazing taste with about the same aromas, with an incredible balance and smoothness.
Medium to full, creamy mouthfeel, with a smooth, medium carbonation and it finishes smooth, roasty, slightly dry, with a wonderful dark chocolate, wood, some smoke, some dark fruits and with a slight, satisfying alcohol warmth.

Completely worth the ratings, this is by far the best Doppelbock in the world! The balance is just oustanding, accomplished to pure perfection! Full, but not too filling, actually surprisingly drinkable for this style, but still really complex and with the characteristic Ayinger smoothness at the same time. Amazing!

33cl @ bottle. Finalmente una birra tedesca che mi convince appieno. Una scura cremosa e corposa. Buona.

Aroma of bready malts, caramel, chocolate, dark fruits, light smoke. Flavour is malty, a bit roasty, medium sweet (relatively moderate compared to most Bocks), with a moderate bitter finish. Well-balanced and easily drinkable. One of the better Bocks I’ve had.

Robe noir profond, reflets rouges.Mousse crémeuse blanche. Arômes délicieux des malts grillés, torréfiés à l’extrême.Belle amertume finale.Très équilibrée.Beau produit.Un des meilleurs double bock goûté.

Deep black beer with a small beige head. Taste is caramel, dark fruits, cocoa, roasted malts(smoky) with some nice bitterness. Aftertaste is also roasted and light bitter. Nice Doppelbock and easy to drink.

Bottle. Small, tan head, almost black, clear body. Aroma: Caramel, bread, some plum, minimal roast. Taste: Sweet with some sourness. Flavor of caramel, compot, bread, some coins. Medium body, low carbonation, good drinkability. Good beer, but not shocking.

330ml bottle served in a mug. Review nr. 500 deserves a worthy beer! A: Pours a clear deep and dark amber color. Nutty. Forms a big beige and bit creamy head when poured. Medium retention and only few lacings formed and left in the glass S: Very toffee. Roasted malts, brown bread ans Lager yeasts. However, it’s quite fruity with notes of raisins and figs. Oak. Lovely T: Sweet upfront. Toffee, roasted malts, caramel malts, brown bread, Lager yeasts. Notes of chocolate. Light hoppy/roasted bitterness in the end M: Medium body. Slightly molasses. Medium to low carbonation. Aftertaste is roasted and light bitter O: Excellent drinkability. State of art German Doppelbock [ BA Review @ 9/28/2012 ]

Very rich and malty. It's as if they liquified a Charleston chew. Thick yet goes down smooth. Of all dark and heavy beers double bock's... This has been my favorite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very rich and malty, almost like candy (caramel?). Thick and chewy, but remarkably easy to drink - goes down smooth. Of all dark and heavy beers, this one makes a great introduction to the style for the novice (albeit in the sink or swim mentality).
