4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: FEB 13, 2013 Tap from St. Urhos, HKI. Creamy head, almost black beer. Aromas of malt, coffee, toffee. Soft and creamy mouthfeel, taste of malt, liquorice, coffee, maybe a hint of toffee afterwards. Overall delicious, my favourite of all darker brews and styles this far.

Aroma has bread and coffee in it, also reminds me of Finnish "mämmi". Really dark color, almost no head. Quite sweet taste which I am not fond of. Palate is fizzy and lively, finish is long and lightly bitter. Overall, quite good experience.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Deep dark Brown/red with a bit beige head. Aroma of mixed malts, toffee, chocolate, hints of mocca. Taste is a bit rosted, coffee, dark dried fruits, chocolate. A nice sweet bitterness, especially in the aftertaste. Fantastic!

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
A lot of roasted malt and caramel, but no traces of fruitiness. The finish is way more bitter than expected. Some smokyness too.
It reminded more of an english beer (I’d say a stout) that a german one, but I’m pretty sure that mine was an unlucky bottle as the beer had neither the aroma nor the taste as strong or complex as I read almost everywhere.
Wiil try again.

Dark brown/black pour with a dark tan 2 finger head. Dissipates quickly with minimal lacing. Notable mocha/coffee, malty taste. Perfect amount of bitterness to finish. Would love another!

Tap at Beergeek. Very rich malty beer, balanced. Dried fruits, woody, caramel, dark fruits. On the malty side but does not seem cloying. Quite good, excellent.

Pours deep dark brown with thick brown head that quickly disappears. Nose is milk and chocolate. Aromas are roasted malts, coffe, cocoa, caramel. Average carbonation, medium body. Medium sweet and roasty finish. Very easy drinkable!
