Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year’s aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

Leaves me utterly complacent. Few other beers can do this. Awesome brew!

330 mml bottle tasted the 13/09/2014. Dark colour with a tan creamy and medium to long head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, coffee, toffee and some herbs. The taste is complex and well balanced with presence of the hops, caramels, dark fruits and roasted malts. Aftertaste is nice with a good mix between dry and bitter. Next one please!

Bottle at home. The colour is very deep nut brown and with a big, creamy, light brown head. Compact aroma of chocolate, dried fruit, some smoked meat, dark chocolate and roasted malt in the background. More roast in the flavour with rye bread, ash, sweet chocolate, wood and some coffee. Has a rich and silky mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A well balanced and roasted doppelbock.

33 cl in snifter. Pours a dense almost stout like dense thick beige medium head; deep dark impenetrable black/browny colour. Smells sweet and roasted malts, balck forest cake, dried fruits raisins, banana, vanillaish ; that’s nice. Taste is very balanced and overall not that sweet as you would imagine from the smell; the roastiness from the malts it’s always there, then cherry, sort of fruity, and cocoa taste going towards a light bitter finish. Perfect carbonation, balanced, tasty, rich but very drinkable too, as the best germans. See it as a sort of mix between a dark belgian ale and a small touch of a stout.

Bottle poured into a Delirium Tremens snifter.

A - Pours dark nut brown with a nice one finger tall tan head, dissipating down to a thin film, leaving small wisps of lace down the glass.

S - Smells of rich caramel malt, toffee, chocolate, molasses, dark fruits like raisins and figs, and some light booze. Pretty sweet smelling overall.

T - Starts off with a mix of toffee and sweet caramel malt slowly giving way to hints of chocolate, molasses, dark fruit, and some dark candied sugar. A bit of booze begins to creep in toward the end of the glass. The finish is a mix of dark sweetness and light dryness, lingering for some time.

M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Rich, sweet, feel with plenty of sweetness lingering through the finish.

O - This one is very sweet but it has plenty of flavors going on to keep you interested. I wouldn’t say this is the best dopplebock I have ever had but it is up there.
