Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year’s aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

I expected a tad more power and heft. Not a bad beer, I just don’t think I’m a fan of the authentic style.

’This is a very good beer and it’s a reference to what is a Doppelbock. Pure and classic, no experiments - just good brewing techniques and best ingredients (and according to the Reinheitsgebot). Even if I rated other Doppelbocks higher as I liked the special tastes more, this is the beer you need to drink when you want to taste the real Doppelbock as it should be!

average fizzy light brown head. good lacing. mostly diminishing. flat thick dark orange body. aroma: moderate malty, dark chocolate, mild coffee, dried fruits, ruby port, dried banana. if: heavy sweet. ff: moderate sweet bitter; long duration. palate: light medium body, watery/oily texture, lively carbonation, chalky moderate alcoholic finish. Dulçor de frutas secas com backbone maltada. Forte aquecimento (confunde-se com o amargor). Amargor de casca de fruta não equilibra muito bem por seu gosto não ser tão agradável, sendo considerado por mim uma falha. 100 s

Pours a dark amber color with a nice thick head. Sweet malty smell. Beer is first sweet tasting, hints of fruit finishing off with a strong malty taste with just a hint of bitterness. Nice and complex. Overall a very good doppelbock.

Bottle. Sweet figure attached! Pours a beautiful intense dark brown amber with big brown head, that settles nicely to one finger head. Aroma is tons of malty caramel. Bready and loads of dried fruits, toffee. Slight toast. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, brown sugar and pleasant toasty finish light bitter. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Kind of fresh, despite the dense malt-bombe character.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2014 Bottle, about 1 year old.
Very dark copper body, with a medium, creamy, dark beige head.
Smooth, complex aroma of nuts, dark chocolate, wood, smoke, burnt sugar, dried fruits.
Amazing taste with about the same aromas, with an incredible balance and smoothness.
Medium to full, creamy mouthfeel, with a smooth, medium carbonation and it finishes smooth, roasty, slightly dry, with a wonderful dark chocolate, wood, some smoke, some dark fruits and with a slight, satisfying alcohol warmth.

Completely worth the ratings, this is by far the best Doppelbock in the world! The balance is just oustanding, accomplished to pure perfection! Full, but not too filling, actually surprisingly drinkable for this style, but still really complex and with the characteristic Ayinger smoothness at the same time. Amazing!

33cl @ bottle. Finalmente una birra tedesca che mi convince appieno. Una scura cremosa e corposa. Buona.

Aroma of bready malts, caramel, chocolate, dark fruits, light smoke. Flavour is malty, a bit roasty, medium sweet (relatively moderate compared to most Bocks), with a moderate bitter finish. Well-balanced and easily drinkable. One of the better Bocks I’ve had.

Robe noir profond, reflets rouges.Mousse crémeuse blanche. Arômes délicieux des malts grillés, torréfiés à l’extrême.Belle amertume finale.Très équilibrée.Beau produit.Un des meilleurs double bock goûté.
