mcsquint (15), , Missouri, USA Oct 4, 2008 Poured from an 11.5oz bottlle. Dark brown with a bit of red when held up to a bright light source. Thick, longlasting, tan head. Aroma of malt with a hint of raisins. Very thick malty taste with a nice hop balance on the finish. This is my first experience with a doppelbock. I can’t imagine one that could be better. keepersj12 (423), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA Sep 30, 2008 Oh this is a terrific Doppelbock. Aroma of candied fruits. Beautiful dark ruby red pour. Taste of fruits, malts some hops in the finish. Best example of the style I’ve tried.

Great balanced beer. sebletitje (362), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 29, 2008 Tap @ OTH.
Pours dark amber,off-white head.
Aroma hoppy, malty, mix of fruits, with a near vegetable nose.
Taste, very sweet, caramely / sugary, possibly licorice, light fruits tones (cherry), thick mouthfeel, little hoppy in aftertaste. Some roastiness in the finish.
I can’t help but notice some earthly/vegetable taste similar to the aroma.
