Commercial Description:
Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

Poured a dark brown with ruby and copper highlights. The head was one finger of tight off-white bubbles. Some lacing. The aroma was sweet caramel with some dried fruit. The flavor was sweet caramel rolling quickly into dried fruit (apricot?) and bitter nuts (almond?) with a finish that lingered and wasn’t hoppy. I found the mouthfeel a bit on the watery side.

Pours an opaque brown with slight toffee colored head. Smells of spices and maybe raisins. Good mouth feel. Tastes of raisins. It wants to taste sweet, but the malt and hops counteract that very quickly. This is a good beer, but it seems to be filling. I don’t think I could drink more than two bottles in one sitting. More refined than Optimator.

Great all around beer. smooth smoky aroma that maintains throughout the bottle. Thick tan head holds well for a little while. Malty, melanoidin flavor that would go great with something salty. Alcohol heat not present, a little warming in the stomache. Fun beer to drink...

Awesome double bock. Reddish undertone in a dark, dark, almost black beer. Disguises the alcohol expertly. Delicious medium body with discernibly roasted notes. Perfect for the style, nothing remotely offensive about this outstanding doppel. Excellent nose, excellent mouthfeel, excellent drinkability, excellent everything. Long live the King of dopplebocks.

Nice dark brown pour with a head that develops. Yeast(y) and sweet aroma. Very smooth palate and nice malty flavor. Aftertaste holds on the roasted malt and leaves slightly bitter. Great beer!

Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock 6.7% ABV 1st nose, it is hoppy, with 1 inch head. 1st taste was light and a bit fizzy. Dry, soft, chocolaty finish. End was kinda thickish. Very good, and acceptable with steak, ribs, sausage. Bought cold, let stand on table for a bit.
