Commercial Description:
Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

330 ml bottle from a trade with paco. pours very dark red with a fair sized beige head. big malty aromas come in waves from the glass. mostly roasted malt aromas but lighter notes of hops show and become more pronounced as this warms. flavours are deep and complex. quite a malt bill must go into this one and the hops profile stands up quite nicely to round out the offering. overall i love it.

massive brown head... malty bitterness with some spices... wow, this taste is maltiness at its best, with complex after tastes of hops... some roasted stuff and a lingering aftertaste, great beer

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small cream colored head. Super malty aroma, reminiscent of wort on brewday, hints of dry dogfood. Flavor is extremely malty with an almost salty taste, a touch sweet. Medium mouthfeel, quite smooth.

As for a doppelbock... this one is the cream of the crop. First of all it is sooo smooth. Rare in a db. The aging has to be the trick. Very balanced in character. The commercial description says it all realy.

Dark, Dark carmel with a creamy light tan head. Very malty and molasses nose. Flavor is a burst of aching nostalgia for me, remembering the dark, sweat, home made bread my grandma made on our North Dakota farm. Great lingering finish.

9oct08: 12 oz bottle
Rich malty aromas - melanoidins, toasty, bready, slight hints of molasses
Dark brown, clear, ruby highlights. Tan head with light retention
Rich malty sweetness with bready, toasty notes. A bit of bitterness to support the long malty finish
Medium body, medium-high carbonation, prickly
Nice doppelbock, the molasses seems out of place as does the prickly carbonation
