Brown to black coloured, small off white head, low carbonation. Aroma has chocolate, cacao, mocca, some sweetness also. Bitter tste, not sweet at all, full bodied, with again mocca and chocolate. Long long finish, smooth, bitter, a very nice doppelbock!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Dark brown large creamy tan head. Dark dried fruit, electrical fire, caramel, brown sugar. Full body, oily texture, medium carbonation. Soft and filling mouthfeel with light alcohol presence. Light cocoa dry finish with long lasting malty notes. Very full and the dry finish gives it a twist. Complex and punchy. Will try again.

330 ml bottle from Jungle Jim’s this time. I’ve had this numerous times and hadn’t rated. Nice bottle and the little goat is a nice touch. Pours a hazy reddish brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, nuts, smoked wood, mild fruit character, caramel, toast, with a hint of spice. Rich malty flavors. The nose is weaker than the flavor. This is certainly one of the best doppelbocks I’ve had.

It was pretty good. I don’t think I am into doppelbocks as much as the other raters on this. Fortunately I have this little mountain goat charm now.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
A wonderful beer. Pours very dark and clear with a light head that lingers. Aroma is very malty with a hint of plums or raisins. Very clean with a nice malt hops balance, with a very slight sweetness and malty finish. Medium bodied. Tastes very clean, very little alcohol noted in the background.
