50 cl bottle @ home as ”Ayinger Lager Hell”, BBE 04/2013
Rather foamy stuff to be a German lager; started to come out of the bottle a moment after opening and my Ayinger glass was half head half liquid after the pour. Very bright appearance. Aroma has butter, some grassy hops, hints of herbs and grain. Flavour has butter, some harsh gooseberry bush notes, grain, hints of grassy hops and distant herbal notes. The hops feel a bit old and harsh here, perhaps would have been better fresh.

Bottle from a bottle shop in Germany. Light bready and malty smell. Similar taste. Light, clean and very drinkable.

Clear yellow color with foam head. Fresh, wet malt in the nose. Fresh and light malty taste with a bitter touch. Light malty and bitter touch in the aftertaste.

0,5l Flasche. Schöne goldene Farbe, feiner Schaum und stabile Kohlensäure. Geschmacklich wenig Tiefgang und relativ süß für ein helles.

Clear golden with little white head. Aroma is barley and normal helles stuff. Not very intense. Taste reminds me of a mixture of märzen and kellerbier. A fresh hoppy citrussy sourness but also a decent malty barley sweetness. Pleasant mouthfeel with decent hoppy finish. Overall very good for a helles. This was nice! Ayinger really doesnt brew a bad beer.

In tap in brewery: pours straw like yellow, clear, with creamy two fingers white head. Aroma: white bread, some floral, citrusy notes of hops...flavor is practically the same; finish is bready, slightly bitter. Body is moderate medium, texture soft, carbonation is medium to high.

glennmastrange (2621) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - JUN 13, 2016
UPDATED: JUN 18, 2016 Tap . Light grain for the malt, light herbs for the hops, faint dough for the yeast, with faint paper and vegetable in the background. Head is small, fizzy, white, with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is sparkling clear gold. Flavor starts lightly acidic and finishes lightly acidic and slightly bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery with a fizzy carbonation and a lightly drying finish. A pretty good Helles, but nothing there to make it as outstanding as their other beers.

Many thanks for this beer to kevnic2008. Piwo ma swietna sniezna i stabilna piane. Zlocista barwa slodowe akcenty w smaku i chmielna goryczka pozostajaca w ustach na dluzej. Dobry dortmundzki lager.

Aroma: malty, caramel, bread, gently grassy, herbs, dough. Appearance: pale, clear, white head with good retention. Taste: same as aroma, very lightly bitter, some gentle alcohol warmth. light body, slick feel, average carbonation, long finish, low dryness. overall: well balanced, nicely drinkable.

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.
