Served at Speis & Trank across from the HB and next to the Hard Rock (sigh). I am now curious as to what they had on draught at the München Hard Rock but I really didn’t want to take the time to find out. A rich and inviting beer with a hazy, golden look to it. Floral and biscuity. This was a very nice welcome to Munich indeed.

Big coarse white head disappears almost immediately. Pale yellow body with some carbonation and a slight haze. Earthy, floral aroma with notes of grain. Taste of sweetish straw and fruits and a touch of rubber with floral hops. Dry, floral aftertaste. Very soft mouthfeel. Dry, grainy taste lingers. Good, but not too special. (0.5l bottle.)

Blonde colour. The head is quite big and disappears quickly leaving small laces on the glass. Malty Aroma, with notes of bread and a certain hoppy feeling. Herbal hops and malt in the mouth. The palte is good, with medium carbonation, good level of bitterness, and high level of drinkability. The aftertaste is quite long. Thirst quenching and pleasant beer.

Finn (4642) - Tromsø, NORWAY - OCT 27, 2006
Bottle 0,5l. Pale golden colured. Unclear. A yellowish disappearing head. Aroma of perfume and malt. Oily mouthfeel. Sweet fruity flavour - like bubblegum. Dry aftertaste with a fruity twist in the finish.

Rune (8928) - Tromsø, NORWAY - OCT 26, 2006
500ml bottle picked ut at Alko, Tampere. Pale yellow and a bit hazy body. Fast fading white foam. Ripe aroma of sweet fruits. Rounded taste of sweetness and of lemon mix with floral hops. Has also got hints of wheat and coriander. Short finish. Medium carbonation (sampled with Finn, 25.10.2006).

Dorqui (2125) - Brescia, ITALY - AUG 10, 2006
UPDATED: SEP 14, 2007 Bottled. Golden hazy color, medium bubbly. Rather light foam, medium duration. Prickly and sour aroma, light spiced with hoppy and clear grapes notes. Little pungent taste, light bitter and decided notes of wine cellar and clear mildews. .

Pours hazy copper with a decent white head. Amells nutty with some malty character. Taste is of earthy hops, malt, biscuits, and some perfumy hints. Mouthfeel is syruppy. Finish is more earthy hops.

Bottle. Hazy straw-gold pour with an irrepressible frothy and rocky white head. Aroma is malty, bready, dusty, with some hops. Taste is clean, heavily malty, soft, lightly sweet, bready, a little floral. Buttery mouthfeel, but a little thin. Dry finish and a great yeasty/hoppy end. Thanks to joss!

Beautiful body (crystal clear), incredible head; Not to big a nose, but typically Ayinger it has an incredible balance, well made and deep, some grain ,hop and actually a bit fruity riesling; Soft carbonation but quite a bit of it, balanced body; Into long dry finish, again hop and malt. Another incredibly well made German beer, that is a great pleasure to drink.

StewardofGondor (1934) - Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - APR 26, 2006
On tap at Ayinger Speis und Trank. Transparent pale gold with a sudsy and foamy white head. Spicy hop aroma with some curt lemon-squeezes over sourdough crust. Enticing, enlisting force, aromatically in tune with scrapings from lime skin, freesia and lavender. Such a poetic floral statement that leads up to the flavor. Wholesome entourage with a perfumey hop profile. Sweet lemon rind pressed over hearty sourdough crust. There’s a pils muskiness, but its entreaties confine themselves to the pure glory of a cellared German lager. Corn stalks, wheat fields and cotton blossoms dispersing into summer’s harvest. Lilacs and daffodils give notice to the floral accents upon us. That cotton is revisited in terms of the begging and pleading mouth sensations. Pure, crisp and flavorful projections enforce effervescent perfection. Finish gives credit to starch, potato bread, bakery floors and sweet buttered hardrolls. Damn if this isn’t the epitome of Kellerbiers and German lagers.
