Formally called Kirta-Halbe. In October, each year we celebrate Kirta-Halbe. 1999 was a very special year because we opened our handsome new brewery and Beer Adventure on October 15, one day before Kirta-Halbe. Our Ayinger Kirta-Halbe label, by Dieter Hanitzsch shows Bavarian Minister President Dr. Edmund Stoiber with our own Bräu von Aying, Franz Inselkammer in front of the new brewery. For the opening, Mr. Stoiber addressed more than 1000 friends, customers and community leaders .

Bottle as Ayinger Kirtabier. Pours a hazy dark orange amber with a small, off-white head. Aroma is a lot of honey bread. Honey and bready malts. The taste is much of the same with the bready maltiness being much stronger and turning a bit darker. Honey is present, but not as strong as in the aroma. Not very sweet which is a good thing. A lot of beers flavored with honey tend to be much too sweet. Light herbal hoppiness in the finish and aftertaste. Palate is medium and not very carbonated.

Many thanks to Finn for yet another beer gift. The 500ml bottle, as Ayinger Kirtabier, pours a close to clear copper coloured body. Spotty lacing from a decent off-white head that stays well. Modest aroma of dried fruits and earthy malts. Leafy hops with almond, semi-sweet malts and dried fruits in the flavour character promoting a taste of bittersweet marmalade. Lingering and smooth mid-dry, bitter end. Medium bodied. Fits the season. And, as always, a pleasure to drink an Ayinger beer (Tromsø, 18.10.2012).

0.5 l bottle from Alko. Slightly hazy copper color. Sweet bready and toasty malt aroma with nuts and toffee. Sweet malty taste with toffee, toasted bread, honey, some herbal notes and low bitterness. Fruitininess comes when sediment is added. Medium body. Well made, at first this felt somewhat unexciting but sediment nicely adds richness and complexity. Goes well with pizza.

Direi il classicone marzen---teutonico, che bevuto ad ettolitri in compagnia è gradevole, ma poi...

Bottle from Alko, Keminmaa. Hazy dark amber colour, totally dissapearing head. Sweet malty aroma with some caramel. Taste is sweetish also, quite malty, ending is nice and dry. Simple but good: Ayinger never fails.

500 ml bottle. Hazy reddish amber colout, medium off-white head. Malty, slightly earthy aroma with notes of yeast and grassy hops. The flavour is bready-malty, with yeasty and fruity notes, and a moderately bitter, grassy-hoppy finish. Medium-bodied, smoothly carbonated.

Amber and somewhat hazy beer with lacy head. Fresh, bready maltiness, yeast and a good pinch of herbal hops. Round, bready malts, slightly honeyish. Dryish finish with yeast and mellow bitterness. Medium body, soft texture, slightly oily.

Flaske 0,5l fra Alko Muonio merket Kirtabier. Drukket hjemme 28 Sep 12. Mørk gyldenbrun. Litt skum som raskt flater ut. God søt karamellaroma. Antydning til litt frukt. Smaken brukbart fyldig. Innholdsrik. Litt krydder. Undertone av frukt. Plommer. Blir etterhvert litt syrlig. Godt øl som bringer fram minner fra en av mine ølhøydepunkter: Sommerkveld i bryggerihagen blant gode venner, godt øl og god mat.
