Bottle. Sour barley malt and hay aroma. Hazy pale yellow color with small head. Sweet barley malt flavor with a mild dry grass/hay hops finish. Easy drinking - on the sweet side.

La classicona keller tedesca, ma forse almeno secondo mio personale un pò meglio di altre. In bocca in effetti e buona e dissetante.

Ayinger Speis & Trank. Hazy golden body, lovely white head. Eggy grainy nose, slightly yeasty, clearly pointing where this is going. Soft grainy eggy malty taste (surprise surprise), but actually balanced enough to be pleasant.

On tap @ Ayingers Speis und Trank, Platzl, München. Pours opaque golden colour with a decent head. Subdued malt aroma. Fairly sour flavour with a yeasty aftertaste. Not as great as Aying’s other offerings.

500ml Bottle. Appearance is cloudy slightly orangish-yellow color with light, fizzy, off-white head. Aroma is citrus, herbal and yeasty. Taste is similar with heavy yeast and strong citrus flavors along with mild herbal hop bitterness. Palate is light- to medium-bodied, slick texture, fizzy carbonation, semi-dry finish.

(bottle) Light yellow, hazy colour, foamy white head. Yeasty, grainy/cereal aroma with only slight herbal hoppy notes. Quite dry, bitter taste. Soft carbonation. Hardly any sweetness. Not bad at all, but a bit boring.

Cloudy yellow with a white head. Odd woody aroma. Taste is malt, yeast, wood and slight tartness. Dry, spicy finish.

Draft in Munich at Ayinger. An easy blond colored brew, easy and refreshing. I don’t know much of this style but it seems pleasant. A cereal aroma and taste.

My Bottom Line :
Doughy yeast settles upon citrusy, herbal hops in this plump, soft Kellerbier.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam draws some lacing atop the cloudy yellow.
-This is one of those Kellerbiers in which the yeast tends to overshadow the subtle flavor display brought forth by the malts and hops.
-This brew is not necessarily süffig as it delivers everything early on and doesn’t have any building flavors (especially in the finish), yet it remains a very satisfying pint.
-The prickly carbonation and light residual sugars make for an enjoyable mouthfeel.

On tap at Ayinger Speis und Trank, Munich.

Bottle from Maruhn, Darmstadt
Hazy blond color. It has a nice aroma of malt, hay and cereals. The mouthfeel is a bit weak, especially in the final; the malt has very light crispy notes, and grassy, and there is some fading aromatic hop too. The bitterness is medium-low. Timid beer, but enjoyable.

Koelschtrinker (7034) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 2, 2011
Herbes, etwas bitteres Finish. Gut! 8/11/12/11/9/11
