COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy honey color with off white head. Aroma is malts, bread, toast. Taste is bready, very light sweetness. Very smooth. Nice creamy smooth palate. Best of the style I’ve ever had hands down. Love this brewery.

Draft at the stone street tavern NYC. Taste crisp and malty with a nice bready fall flavor. Petty good for a style I generally don't like ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

50cL bottle. Delicious aroma, just like a bakery or something, super-malty. Fantastic palate, very very developed and benign. Taste is not perfect, but very very good and enjoyable for the style. It’s hard for me to offer specific critiques, I think they’re not likely to take my advice after making this beer for god-knows-how-long. It’s very, very decent.

Dark malt, and a good example of the Oktoberfest style. Honey colored, thin head and lace. Some citrus....

Dark malt dominates, pours amber with medium creamy white head. Light malt aroma with stronger malt taste. Slightly smoky palate with abrupt finish. One of the better festbiers, as expected.

I’m a huge Ayinger fan, and this beer should define the style in my opinion. Toasted malt with a nice bready touch but easy to drink and ends a bit sweet. I’m not huge on the October style, but it is hard to not love this beer.

A light aroma and deep amber color raised my hopes for this one. Almost no bubbles and a distinctly nutty flavor made me appreciate these Bay Area summer (autumn) nights. It was just what I needed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour from bottle. Average head with larger bubbles subsides quickly to a speckled film. Aroma is subtle bready malt, and maybe a hint of citrus from the hops. The full body and balanced profile makes for a very pleasing flavor and mouthfeel when quaffed.

Bottle. Pours a medium amber, white head okay retention, solid lacing. Nose is malty with some candied orange. Mouth is medium bodied and malty, lots of caramel (think caramel kettle corn... or the original Poppycock or Fiddle Faddle). Malt forward (did I already mention the maltiness?), some orangey notes as well. Finishes weak which is why I took off a few points, but overall an excellent Märzen. Prost, mein freunden!

Yes this beer is delicious. BUT I’m not all about it like some folks. Could be the style doesn’t appeal to me like it once did. Sweet malts on the aroma, bright and clean carbonation on the palate. Would be easy to drink this by the litre in an enormous stein.
