Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

Certainly not Ayinger’s best, but very good for the style.

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2005 Wow, what an amazing beer! Poured from bottle into shaker glass. Not paying attention, I acidentally poured the yeasty sediment in which clouded it a bit. Otherwies it was a pale copper color. The slightly rocky off-white head slowly diminished. Medium body. Alcohol was well-hidden. My overall impression was malty, maybe a little nutty. YUM!

Great beer for fall. Light Amber color with light aroma. Full bodied with a sweet flavor spiced just enough. Finish remains sweet and very clean.

Pours Amber color with off white head. Aroma has a bit of malt sweetness. Taste is a nice balance of sweetness, and malt with a slighlty bitter finish. One of the best Oktober fest beers for sure.

.5L bottle. Pours a crystal clear dark gold/light amber with a huge billowy head. Aroma is fairly weak caramel malts. Taste is clean, sweet malts with a bit of a buttery, yeasty finish. Hops are extremely subdued and there is no real bitterness to this beer. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. This makes an outstanding food beer and goes down easy. Not bad for the price.

The flavor brings strong carmel and some hints of toffee. As the beer warms you get molasses that seems to carry right through to the end. Some grassy notes too. When it comes to the aroma some good malt, carmel and a little grassy notes Pours a copper color a quick disappearing white head. It has a nice amount of carbonation The beer finishes with solid grassy hops and spiciness. But there is a sweetness from some molasses that tends to linger on the palate. It’s a good version of the style with there own twist. I could never do a full session of these but still enjoyable. But another good beer from these guys.

I find this beer to be lightly sweet and a little bit malty. I did not find the aroma to be near as good as the tase!!

Tried this on tap at The Hay Merchant in Houston, TX. Sweet floral aroma balanced with hops, not as tasty as some other oktoberfest marzens that I have had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours clear amber with a voluminous off-white foamy head and impressive carbonation. Nice caramel malty aroma with notes of hay and cereal. Slightly sweet malty flavor with enough hop presence to provide balance. Lively mouthfeel but still smooth and easy to drink. I can picture myself drinking a few ridiculously oversized steins of this.

The real thing. Malty and perilously drinkable.
