COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2008 Poured 16.9 oz bottle into 20 oz. mug. Nice golden amber color. 1-2 finger white head diminishing to none. Light lacing. Faint malty aroma. Medium body. Lightly sweet flavor that lasts to the finish. Moderate carbonation. Very drinkable. An excellent example of this style.

Aroma: Nice malty rich and a floral note of hops Appearance: light yellow with tinges of amber and a tan head Taste: Very malty Märzen but still quite balanced and impeccably smooth Palate: Thick and creamy Overall: Perhaps the most drinkable Märzen i have ever had a fantastic brew

On tap at a beer garden. Nice amber glow with medium head. Taste is malt with hops layered in the background. Mild and smooth with good body. Just about perfect for an event where you are going to have several. It made many people smile. Well worth having.

I really didn’t like the fruity smell of this beer. It wasn’t bad but it was a little too sweet.

HQT Octoberfest. 500 ml. bottle. I guess I’m just a wet blanket but I didn’t think this was an enjoyable beer at all. A little on the thick side, with a bitter aftertaste. Didn’t like the silage smell. I think it was a good light beer, that you could drink all day. I’msure it taste better on tap... and on Germany. I’ll make sure to give it a second chance when I’m there.

Pours light orange-nice white foamy head. Floral and clovey spices. Much better in flavor than scent.

Orange/gold, with a sweet bready flavor and a smooth finish. A worthwhile beer. I’d pick it up again.

Pours a medium golden amber, with a large foamy head. The off-white head still persisted during the session. The aroma is upfront, with toasted malts and some slight hoppiness. Taste is also strong and largely relfects the aroma--a mild toasted malt flavor is front and center, with some bready, slightly grassy qualities. Hoppiness imparts a little bitterness but is definitely in the background. Mouthfeel is average. In all, a fine Oktoberfest beer if flavor is high on the list of priorities.

Clear golden color right out of the bottle, with a modest head and nose – isn’t there supposed to be a fine German malt aroma? There are overtones of toffee in the medium-bodied beer but these are just as mild; the clean lager taste is quite dry with a bitter aftereffect. Carbonation is high. Doesn’t match its reputation.

Thank you sir may I have another. This is so good, the flavors I get are butterscotch, caramel and bread. It has a very malty, creamy taste that goes down so smooth. I haven’t had many oktoberfest marzen, but of the few I have had this stands on top... fantatic. I really like this one, and I am going to stock up!
