Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

I just picked up 60 bottles- this is truly a great Seasonal and is the best Oktoberfest I have ever had plus it seems very consistent from year to year. The refrigerator is now stocked and I will be popping the top on one of these bottles this evening!

This Marzen pours so crisp & sharp that it’s like it’s in high definition. Toasted malts, drizzled honey, dark bread dough, & herbal tea. Ms Tiki steals a sip & suggests that it kinda tastes like ginger ale minus the ginger & try as I may to erase that image from my mind’s eye I can’t & its vaguely -- but not really but kinda -- true. Love the subtle but intentional finish. Recommended.

½ liter bottle – decants a shimmering deep amber with orange highlights – a 3 finger off white meringue cap lasts and caps the brew to the finish. Aromas of toasted bread, light cara-sweetness, soft cider-like notes, wet hay hop tones ==gorgeous aroma to this lager. Flavor follow aroma; bready-toasty-light herbal-woody hop tones, hint of sweetness that goes instantly dry as the finish begins –dry but malty finish with a tart hop kiss at the end – Fan-F-in’-tastic!! A great fest marzen from Bavaria’s premier brewery. I stocked up.

Bottle plucked an LCBO just as it arrived fashionably late in the last week of November. Pours a nice clear amber with white head. Nose is fruity malt, grain floral hops. Taste hits you with some fruity esters up front and nice grain malt on the finish. Nice even in November.

Tap @Black Door. Clear amber color. Medium size, beige-yellow head, stays. Sweet, very malty, fruity, perfume in aroma. Sweet, caramel, sugary, malty in taste. Long lasting malts in aftertaste. Perhaps bit too sweet for me, but malts are just perfect in this brew.

500ml bottle from Woodmans in Waukesha. Orange pour with a white head. Aroma has toasty caramel malts, sour grains, light fruit. Taste is sweet caramel, sour wheat, fruits, light toasted malts, berries, some wheat. Medium bodied, some alcohol. Finishes sweet and grainy. Shrug? A Marzen is a Marzen .... 13.2

500 mL bottle from Total Wine, Virginia Beach, VA. Dark orange pour with a frothy off-white head. Lager-like aroma of sweet pale malt and faint floral hops. Taste is somewhat sweet with notes of caramel and graham cracker blended with floral and mildly citrusy hops. Not my favorite style but this is the clear winner in its category.

Aroma is like a wonderfully malted grain. Bready and rich smell. Clear ver color with good head. Taste is well rounded and very drinkable. Very enjoyable autumn beer. Excellent brew

On tap @Buskers Pub (Rome). Pours amber, clean and filtered, with a good off-white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, brown sugar, bread crust, ok. Flavour is very sweet, a bit unbalanced, malty, bready but nice. Medium body, medium to light carbonation. Ok.
