COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

I remember this amber ale having a sort-of off, funky aroma but interesting in an Oktober. Very easy and malty, with a touch of sweetness. Worth picking up again.

Appearance- big foamy ivory white head that lasted a long time and left pretty decent lacing. Clear, amber, honey gold. Most appealing. Smell- clean, malty, bready, (slightly) spicy. Taste- toasted malts, biscuity, caramel. Very, very pleasant. Mouthfeel- light, smooth. Excellent balance. Overall- very nice. A solid brew. Never used to be a big fan of Marzen/Oktoberfest, but starting to enjoy more and more. Would have again (and again) and definitely recommend. Cheers!

Bottle from Nathaniel’s. Pretty amber-orange, clear, fine thick head. Nutty, malty nose, light caramel, earthy hops, light peach and orange. Sweet fruity, nutty, malty, some raisins. A bit old, perhaps. Tasty, rich, fruity, and malty. Good, but did not move me as I was hoping it would. I really need to try this fresh in Germany on tap.

Pours light brown sugar color with a small tan head. Smells of sweet caramel. Tastes like a caramel apple with a little crisp hop flavor. The perfect fall beer that’s refreshing and tasty while still remaining a beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle - By far the best Marzen/Octoberfest I have had. Malt forward and bready. Hops take a backseat as usual but even more so in this beer. Clean semi-dry finish. Awesome everyday Fall beer.

Bottle pour. Pours a nice copper color with a lasting, patchy head. Bready flavor and aroma. Really nice, easy drinking beer here. Good stuff.

Pours a nice copper with an effervescent white head. Nice gently malty bready nose and taste. You can tell this beer was aged appropriately drinking real nice and smooth, as it should.

Pint bottle into snifter glass, clear copper color with fluffy off-white head. Aroma of warm bread, caramel and faint apple/fruity note. Taste adds notes of grain, toast, honey, dark fruit and balanced earthy hops. Medium-light body, low-moderate carbonation, soft, creamy with clean caramel finish. Very drinkable excellent Oktoberfest.

500 ml bottle, the beer pours a mostly clear dark gold/amber color with about an inch frothy off-white head that sticks around a while. There’s also a lot of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like caramel and bready malt, honey, and light earthy hops. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but with the addition of a bit of apple and dark fruit. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s smooth and easy to drink with moderate carbonation. I thought this was a good Oktoberfest brew, I’d buy this again in the future. $3.49 a bottle.
