COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

Pretty good. Cloudy amber color. Not enough hops to overwhelm the sweetness. Big malty flavor.

Nice thick head that does not last long. Slightly acidic aroma with hints of tomatoes, hops and malt. Nice deep amber color with ok carbonation. Body is a medium. Flavor is slightly sour with hops, malt presence. Alcohol is also not present in the taste. Finish is slightly bitter and coats the mouth without being creamy. An ok beer but a little too acidic for my tastes.

Nice malty aroma, sweet and a bit of hops. Slight hazy amber with no head. Med body & carb. Nice malty taste, bit sweet up front. Good tangy bitter hops at finish. Light sweet bitter after.

Nice color with a medium head. Slightly malty nose, inoffensive flavor. Bitter notes on the finish and a somewhat thin body. Good but nothing great.

Had this one a while back but forgot to rate it. This a sweet one for an oktoberfest style of beer. Easy to drink and very refreshing.

My first Oktober Fest that tasted really impressed me. I look for it every year. There may be better but there is much worse. I’ll keep looking. October is my favorite time of year.

A good, enjoyable beer. Gets better as you drink it and it warms up. Really brings out the malt. Good stuff.

Bottle. Amber body with splashes of ruby throughout. Tall frothy tan head violently bubbles up then eases to a point of rest leaving a really nice lacing on the glass. Nose is malty and bready with light flowery notes and hops. Taste unfortunately has some metallic notes in it (iron? kind of like tasting blood). Very odd and unappealing which is different for an Ayinger beer. Malt chewiness, light hops and caramel. Otherwise this is pretty good. Body is carbonated but smooth. Finishes with more malt and dark bread notes along with light caraeml, fruit and floral hops. Not too bad!

Bottled. Copper coloured, beige thick creamy huge head. Malts and hops in aroma, along with hay and caramel. Strong flavour of hops and malt. Wellbalanced and pleasant. A bit roast and honey in aftertaste.

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2009 The aroma is grainy and has mild floral hops, incense, and caramel malt. The appearance is red/copper with a foamy head that turned a little clumpy. The flavor is very malty and has plenty of caramel and some honey. It’s a simple taste but good. The palate is just right for the style but finishes papery. Very nice and true to the style but, it did have a couple of issues.
