COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

A solid caramel, malty brew with hints of citrus, fruit. A bit dull and shallow.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2013 Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is light amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, cookie), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, apricot). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Ok but nothing special. Fairly sweet without much to balance. Simple aroma.

Its got a hazy yeastiness reminescent of strong wheats and that sets it apart from other fests, though after a while you do feel out a fair round malt.

Copper color. Sweet malty nose. Full malty/sweet palate. Easy drinker. Low hops.

Bright orange with a lofty, rocky, cavernous head (whipped egg whites). Light mouthfeel up front, finishes soft and creamy; light carbonation ... watery at times. Malts were lightly sweet, bready and slightly chalky. Hops were light, herbal and slightly bitter. Well made, but very mild in many ways.

The DM & Hotstuff’s European Honeymoon trip beer number 50. This draft brew from a brauhaus in Munich Germany poured a small sized head of finely sized white colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a carbonated transparent brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The aroma was mildly malty and the mouth feel was smooth with a little tingle. The flavor was mild with caramel and brown malt notes.

(10/13/08) Draught at Map Room in Chicago. Clear deep golden color with a small white head. Malty aroma with some toast and caramel notes as well as nutty hints. Sweetish malty flavor with caramel, toasted bread, some light fruitiness and light buttery hints. Medium-bodied. Nothing exciting, but OK.

Pours a light amber with quite a bit of head. Strong caramel malt flavor that finishes slightly bitter. Pretty decent Octoberfest brew.

Poured an attractive copper color with nice white head that lasted a while. Aroma was of sweet malt, caramel, and just a bit of hop aroma. Flavor is pretty much the same with the sweetness being offset by just a bit of hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is good. Beer is good, but I’ve had much better O-fests.

sweet and malty, lots of nice caramel, littkle bit of honey, not much on the hop front. still very good.
