COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

UPDATED: OCT 22, 2012 INCREDIBLE BEER! Malty and floral nose... Flavor was malty but had this slight floral thing going on too... slight hint of fruit also... One of my favorites!

Thanks, Mike and Abbie! Nicely lustrous amber pour, with a vigorous and quite fresh-looking head. Liquid bread. Mild spice and pert fruit in the nose along with the more expected chewy notes. And for a marzen, this is certainly among the more vibrant entries you could hope to find. Modest hops, a smidge of spice, leading to a well balanced brew. This is one I’d actually look forward to having again, stylistic disinterest notwithstanding.

Orange/gold with a fluffy white head that fades quickly but leaves nice lacing. Flavor and aroma both have tons of caramel, biscuit, and candi sugar. A touch of spice in the finish. Good.

Serving: from tap at Doyle’s Public House. Aroma: lightly malty. Appearance: large, frothy, off-white, initial head with no lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Hazy, flat, medium-yellow body. Taste: moderately malty, initial flavor and heavily sweet finish with average duration. Palate: light-to-medium body, oily texture and soft carbonation. Overall: too sweet for me. I wouldn’t drink this again.

Caramel, fairly light. Think these are boring just like American ambers. This one is pretty good for style. Has a semi lasting body.

A - Pours a clear golden amber with ruby highlights. 3 fingers of foamy off-white head with rings of lace. S - Doughy honey yeast with lemon & metallic notes. Funky caramel mixed in with brown sugar as well. Tangy peaches. T - Bready malted grain blended with a musty yeast. A toasted caramel envelopes mild earthy lemon-citrus hops. Faint cinnamon spice. Aftertaste is of soft spiced apples. M - Medium body with a smooth texture. An Oktoberfest with great yeast character. Good all around. I wish it was cheaper. Serving type: bottle 10-30-2010

Deep gold, clear, off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, a little toast, some caramel, light alcohol. Flavor is malty-sweet with some bready and toasty notes, just enough bitterness to prevent it from being too sweet. Easy-drinking.

March 20, 2013 - bottle from Randalls. Clear dark golden pour with big head that lasted and lacing. Sweet malty aroma with a touch of hops. Taste started a bit grainy, then sweet malt and finished with a dry mild bitterness. Thin to medium bodied with some carbonation.
