COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

Draft at Moriartys. Clear dark gold pour with some off-white foam. Lightly toasted whole wheat bread drizzled with caramel. Hint of a hop bite. While not my favorite style this tastes just like a true Marzen should taste. Pretty much sets the standard.

Huge head with sweet caramel notes on the nose. Medium mouth. Sweet taste full of caramel and some faint bitterness. Almost floral. Nice and light, very easy drinking. Easily one of the best in this style.

Poured from bottle into tall lager glass. Clear orangey-gold color with bright white bubbly head. Smells of yeasty bread and very very faint hops. Taste is more bread. Medium thin body, nice crisp feel. Overall, not too much to it, pretty typical lager. Very German (obviously, its from Bavaria), very good example of the style. Also, very refreshing. Prost!

Bottle. Pours a copper color with white head. Toasty, malty, slight caramel aromas. Maltier oktoberfest flavors of bread, malts and slight earthiness. Second best of four german oktoberfest beers blind tasted.

Bready, floral, licorice, butter, paper, orange marmalade. Solid but seems a bit oxidized.

Clear light amber pour with a hint of garnet. Massive head with excellent lacing and retention. The nose is sweet biscuit malt with a little caramel over a faint, almost citric, spiciness. Nice light medium body with a slick smooth texture that approaches creamy. Slightly above normal carbonation with a good bit of effervescence on the finish. The flavor profile is quite nice, a bit complex, and very well balanced. The sweet malt flavors are there, but not to the extent that they are overpowering. It begins with sweet biscuit, flows to a caramel note and then the effervescence cleans the palate and allows the complexity to escape. The middle presents a multitude of subtle flavors - citric, dark fruit, light bitterness and spicy hops. The smooth finish leaves you with a blend of the aforementioned flavors.

Dark golden/copper color, big white head. Aroma of malt and bread with hints of caramel and hop. Malty sweet taste with bready and caramel notes, balanced by light hoppy bitterness. I liked this beer.
