COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

500ml bottle. A great aroma of fruit and dough. Some hints of spices. The flavor its similar with a slight tartness that makers this beer refreshing. Very enjoyable.

50cl bottle@Beerland Trilussa. Dark orange with a foamy white lasting head. Aroma of banana (of course!), yeast and bread. Taste is more complex than expected, for I found it fruity, spicy, pleasant but cannot say more. You only have to enjoy it.

Tasted from tall bottle into tulip glass. Sampled side-by-side with Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier Dunkel to compare two classic Dunkelweizens. The Ayinger is vastly superior. Poured a cloudy, deep orange-amber color (not as dark as expected) with long-lasting white foam and good Belgian lace. Aromas of rising dough and freshly baked whole-wheat bread, caramel, clove, banana, slight citrus, some refined German hops. Flavors of pale malt, mellow wheat, tart citrus, tangy hops bitterness, fruity and spicy fermentation. Lasting sweet & sour finish. Overall impression is that of a high-quality hefeweizen, except with the added complexity that always comes from a darker, caramelized grainbill. Really tasty, much more sophisticated than average mass-market dark lagers.

Pours a decidedly lighter color than the standard dunkel weisse; the color is a deep hazy orange and the head is of course enormous, tight, white, and reminiscent to the top of a meringue pie.

The aroma is yeasty from the get go, with a lot of raw malt, and general "brewery tour" aromas. Some spiciness and banana show up in the aroma but it’s mostly just a lot of grain and yeast, but not in a negative way/

The flavor is more complex, certainly there is some defined maltiness to the beer but it’s got a well rounded fruitiness with about as much ripe red apple as banana, a fairly restrained spiciness (to style), and a nice bitter zing throughout. The beer is sweet but not overbearing.

The beer is full bodied yet lively with a prickly carbonation on the front of the tongue and a nice long finish.

Very effervescent. Not as dark as I was expecting. Banana and clove tasting. Pretty solid brew.

500ml Bottle. Appearance is hazy, copper brownish color with medium, foamy, beige head. Aroma is heavy with strong floral notes and banana. Taste is typical Weizen with fruits, particularly banana, cloves, spice, but with a nice roasted grains element. Palate is medium-bodied, smooth texture, soft carbonation that sits well on the palate, and a semi-dry finish. Just a top-notch Dunkelweizen from one of the best brewers in Germany.

Good one, if you want to look for a little disadvantage, not really good after drinking, although the taste is remarkable.
