Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Huge frothy head (of course), and a nice brown color. Some clove and banana in the aroma. The flavor was sweet, tart, and slightly acidic. Great crisp feel...satisfying.

Brown-orange hazy beer with firm beige head. Sourish aroma with tones of dried fruit. Almonds and banana in the mouth. Harsh and round feeling.

Nice change from regular wheat---darkness threw me for a moment, but the taste is very nice. Not great, but nice blend of fruity/spicy/malty. If it were alittle more "full bodied" I would rate it higher, but seems watery compared to best wheats.

Nice tight head that lasts. Colour that reminds of an aged tawny port. Aroma is full, with nice malty notes, clove and a bit of banana. Medium length on the tongue, with a mid palate finish and a refreshing length at the end. The flavour is a bit watered down, but hints at greatness if given fuller extraction. Quite nice.

Huge head that overflowed. Very yeasty and very cloudy I couldn’t see through it at all and it was sitting for two weeks. It was watery in it’s finish and did’t have much of an impact on me.

Yeasty, spicy nose. Seems a bit watery at first, but malt thickens in the mouth nicely. Bitter and Sweet struggle amongst one another nicely. Loved the gentle fruit aromas and flavors.

Smelled like the yummy kind of fruitcake. Tons of flavor and beautiful head. Tasty stuff.

Some fruit taste, but foremost was a strong synthetic plasticy/rubbery flavor that I didn’t like. Sour aftertaste with an acetic apple taste throughout. I think they would have been better off leaving the malt out.
