COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

500mL bottle from Hi Time Wines. Pours cloudy, hazy yellow/orange with nice head and some lacing. Aroma is slight wheat, spices, and malts, all blended together nicely. Taste is refreshing, light, malty, nice balance of wheat and cloves. Slight bitterness at the finish, but a very nice finish and easy drinkability.

500 mL into Weissen glass Color was a hazy straw brown. Light tan head. Left medium level of lacing. Aroma was of clove and bananas (similar to a hefewissen). Taste was similar. Roasted fruits and nuts were present also. Mouthfeel is smooth at first and then goes down creamy. It has a sticky aftertaste. Overall, I really enjoyed this beer. $4 for a half liter is kinda steep, but I think it was worth it. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 12-14-2008 08:12:51

Bottle. Aroma is bananas, yeast and green apples. Appearance is a cloudy orange brown color with an inch of pillowy head. Taste begins with doughy yeast and lemon citrus flavors followed by honey, caramel and a hint of cloves. Mouthfeel is slightly creamy and medium bodied with strong carbonation and a crisp finish. Overall flavor is a combination of yeast, malt sweetness and ripe fruit. It’s not quite as tasty as their Hefeweizen but it’s still a refreshing brew in its own right.

Strong aroma of bananas and a large white head. The taste is sweet and various, with banana, apple, straw, and a hint of chocolate malt. More palatable than many wheat beers.

50 cl bottle. Pours a murky darlk orange color with lots yeasts in suspension. Big bubbly white head. Quite fast dissipating foam. Aroma is mostly sweet with cloves and apples. Nice sweet yeasty taste. Medium bodied with high carbonation. Overall a good weizen, maybe a bit too sweet imo.
