COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Lightly cloudy dark amber with a light froth. Aroma like a banana Hoegaarden! Flavour and mouthfeel start out zesty. Banana and light clove notes. Yeasty finish and then back to the banana and clove for the finish. Blends together nicely.

Bottle. Pours a murky brown body topped by a crown of white foam which lingers on the sides of the glass. Nose is delicious: banana, a touch of clove and notes of yeast. These flavors are also evident in the taste; Ayinger Ur-Weisse is very well blended and with a fresh, almost tap-like palate and fruity feeling, in spite of the clear and present malty notes. Yummy. Sweet and well-rounded at the same time, this is really a dunkel weizen I could drink a lot of.

One of the most delicious things I have ever tasted. Quite complex and still refreshing as some lighter wheat beers. Wonderful banana clove and fruity ester aromas, super complex but not overwhelming. Would go great with many foods.

Bottle and served in my Ayinger Weizen glass: Pours a light chestnut brown with a lovely beige creamy head which left excellent lace upon the glass. The aroma has notes of bubblegum, clove, banana, lemon and wheaty weizen vapours along with a roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, walnut and bready dunkel notes. The taste is a very balanced sweet and nutty malt profile with noticeable spicy and fruity undertones. A bit of a mineral and metallic note about the finish but not too distracting. The mouth feel is above average for the genre, a bit oily and chewy with a fair amount of lively carbonation as well. Overall among the better example of the style, shocked I had not rated this before.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber chestnut color with a dense foamy beige head. Tons of banana in the aroma and flavor with other notes of yeast, clove, and other spices. Very drinkable.

Amber in color with a very frothy, white head. Banana dominates the nose with a bit of spiciness. So easy to drink! Banana and malts make up the flavor with a hint of apple in the finish.
