COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

The surprise hit of the evening! Pours a cloudy brassy color from bottle. Thin head. Aroma: Sweet / "winey" but muted. Sweet / sour grape-like flavor w/ some malty smokiness. Unexpectedly light mouthfeel w/ clean finish and some alcohol heat. Quite good.

500ml bottle. Hazy, raw umber pour with a large, fluffy off-white head that recedes to nothing. Aroma is of bananas, malt, spices and some fruityness. Flavor follows the nose with bready yeast, cloves, hints of bananas, bubblegum and light malt sweetness. Balanced light carbonation and a medium body. Yeasty, spicy and malt lingering finish.

Bottle BBE dec/2009. Alcoholic and yeasty aroma is quite strong. Hazy orange colour and tall white head makes this beer good looking. Taste is very fruity, lovely stuff. Smooth mouthfeel, medium+ body. Again a very nice beer from Ayinger!

Ayinger Brewery UR-Weisse Dunkel Weizen Maybe out on limb here as we are not the biggest fan of weizens but what the hell. Pours hazy honey colored with a tinge of green. Medium white head that dissipates quickly. Sweet aroma of yeast, bread and dried bananas, but mostly yeast. Effervescing mouthfeel. Tastes like a lot of wheat beers with more yeast and a slightly sour metallic finish. Not my style, but I won’t pour it out.

Pours out a dark gold/orange, lighter than other dunkels I’ve had but certainly darker than a hefeweizen. Smells of bananas with a hint of caramel sweetness. Has a nice caramel flavor to go with the typical banana of a wheat beer, sort of like a Bananas Foster in a glass, best dunkelweizen I’ve had

Recognizably a wheat beer, but with a dark, almost primitive undertone to it. I really liked this beer; it drank easy, despite the complexity, and was a very rich take on the traditional wheat beer -- which sometimes comes off shallow. I’d drink this one again.

Pours an orangish-amber color with a large white head. Aroma is predominantly apples, with a little malt in there as well. The taste is heavy on the bananas, but you also get some apple. No real hops or malt are present in the aroma. A very flavorful beer that is heavy on the fruit. Good beer.

500 mL bottle pours amber with a good bit of off white head into a weizen. Aroma of wheat, yeast, spice, banana, clove. Holds true to the style: hefe wheat, yeast, clove complimented by sweet malts and raisins. Medium bodied and pretty straightforward. Surprisingly mid range carbonation with a fuzzy mouthfeel. Enjoyable but not really my thing.
