COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Bottle. Hazy orange in color, aroma of bready yeast. Taste is the same. A little fruity, yeast, bread. Average texture and carbonation. Dunkels are not favorite but this one was enjoyable. I just wouldnt buy it again for some odd reason.

A nice amber body with a noticeably large white head, this wheat has complex flavor that rewards deliverate tasting--citrus, cloves, malt. A treat.

500 mL bottle from Wine Warehouse. Cloudy amber pour with a large head. Decent retention and moderate lacing. Very yeasty aroma has notes of banana, pineapple, bread, spice. Similar taste, yeast, wheat, banana, peach. Nicely carbonated, full bodied.

Bottle from Kegs & Barrel in McKinney, TX. Pours a dark cloudy gold. Aroma has light notes of bannana. Flavor has some bannana notes and a nice wheat malt backbone, lightly sweet, seems to have a very light pepper spice as well. Mouthfeel is light and soft with high carbonation. Over all this is a nice and balanced beer.

500 mL bottle. Pours dark gold. Huge white billowy head, probably 3+ inches. Lots of big sediment, almost too much. Very cloudy. Smell is yeasty and a bit funky. Wow, esters slam into your tongue on tasting. Banana and bubblegum, getting sweeter and sweeter as they head to the back of the throat. Mouthfeel is light-medium. Very nice refreshing brew. This one has a little funk in the aftertaste but it hardly diminished the quality.

Hazy orange-brown pour with a very thick silky head. Wheaty aroma with lots of spice and some funky yeast. Dry cloves and spices. Lots of wheat flavor with a bit of yeast. Slightly tart with citrus and lemon notes as well as apple and banana. Very fruity and delicious. Crisp, refreshing, easy to drink beer.

500mL bottle purchased for $3.30 - I think it was from Wine Emporium in Boston. Freshness unknown. An interesting pour into a weisse glass. Started off light, getting much darker as the bottom of the bottle was poured in. Although I swished the end of the bottle lots to shake up the sediment, there were still numerous chunks in the glass... so I stirred it with a spoon! My first time ever doing that. The end product is a cloudy grey-gold. Medium aroma of a typical weisse - yeast, banana and bubblegum. Taste is solid. Quite yeasty, which gives it a bit more of a spicy character perhaps than some other weisses.

Bottle. A muddy orange brown beer with a huge off-white head. The aroma is extremely sweet with strong notes of banana and wheat. The flavor is very sweet and acidic with notes of banana, wheat, and citrus with a dry sour end. The body is thin.
