Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

I like the extra body from this dark Weizen style. Typical Weizen too thin and light for my taste ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hmmmm, not sure how to rate this one cause I’m not a big fan of Weisse beers. Hazy brown color with off white head. Fruity aroma: pears, bananas amd bread. I’m disappointed with the flavor. Not much there.

Bottle, 0.50l. Courtesy of CanCrusher, thanks a lot! Pours hazy amber brown color with large creamy off-white head, poor lacing with small yeast particles floating. Aroma of wheat, vanilla, roasted malt, smoke, yeast and mild traces of rubber. Taste starts with moderate sweet and sour grainy malt, following with caramel and smokey notes, while finish is light bitter. Medium to full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Smooth and refreshing dunkelweizen...

Cloudy amber beer, decent white head. Palate is smooth and slightly crisp and semi dry. Smooth wheaty malt, mellow cloves and very mild banana. Smooth dry finish. Pretty standard stuff but quite drinkable.

Pours a cloudy light brown with a buoyant off-white head that leaves some soapy lace. Nose involves banana, apple skin, hearty sourdough, some candy, spice and herbal hops. Somewhat sweet, quite tart, hardly bitter. Light to medium bodied, fluffy and actively carbed, refreshing, with a long yeasty tart finish. Really nice brew, very tasty and enjoyable.

Aroma of banana, bread and clove. Taste is sweet with a subtle smooth bitterness. Orange body is cloudy and head retains quite well.

Draught at Ayingers Speis & Trank, Munich. Brownish-amber, cloudy body, with big, creamy, white head. Aroma of banana, orange, bread, bubblegum, honey, clove. Tastes of banana-cake, bubblegum, honey, citrus, bread, biscuit. Full mouthfeel, lively carbonation and it finishes fruity and slightly spicy. Wow, tasty! So smooth, perfectly balanced and surpisingly complex. The best Dunkelweizen I’ve had so far!

Draft at Ayingers Speis und Trank - Munich. Pours clearish amber with a creamy, off-white head. Nose of toast and light, tangy berries. Light-medium sweet flavor with toasted caramel, hints of cocoa, mellow leafy bitterness, well rounded brown bread. Medium bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Moderately sweet to finish with well toasted brown bread, light toffee. Pretty delicious. A very well balanced beer.
