COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Cloudy and light colored especially for a dunkel weisse. Medium carb with a long lasting frothy head. Smells of wheat, hay and grass. Sweet and tart with a crispy tart finish. Seems weak for a dunkel weisse and more alogn teh lines of a hefeweissen.

The color was an amber-orange. The head was full, creamy and extremely fluffly. The aroma had a sweet wheat smell. The flavor had hints of citris, srong wheat taste, with a bite to it. The palate was carbonated, and strong yeast. The finish was waxy with slight spice.

Pours a hazy amber, has some wonderful carbonation. The head is profuse, creamy white, and has a very velvety texture. The aroma was sweet, had some coriander, nutmeg, and lemongrass. The flavor tasted sour, citric, alcohol and a little bite. The palate was crisp with a slight bite and the finish was sharp and warm.

Pours a cloudy dark brown into a Weizen glass. Significant head recedes and leaves no lacing. Banana and clove notes. Apple and banana with a lasting clove finish.

Brown banana colour, thick white head which lasts. Aroma of banana, butter and champagne. Taste of nuts, butter and cloves. Quite good.

Pours cloudy, deep, brownish gold with a thick off-white head (that dissipates to a ~1/4 inch foam that lasts the duration of the drink). The aroma is very heavy with wheat. There is also some bready yeast, some sweet malts and honey, and traces of lemon or sweet orange zest and banana. The beer is yeasty and wheaty and very zippy with carbonation at first. It then reveals some fruit and malts - while maintaining a lot of bubbly zing tickling the surface of the tongue. The finish has more soft fruit, lots of wheat, some yeast, and some subtle hop bitterness. The finish is somewhat dry, wheaty, and yeasty, with a delicate touch of bitterness. Overall, the flavor seems disappointingly watery and has a peculiar funk that is hard to describe - it seems a clash between the darker, chewier flavors from roasted grains combined with the fruity weizen yeast flavors. It is interesting and not bad - but a letdown compared to other delicious beers from Ayinger that I’ve had...

(bottle, traded with joss - thanks!) Cloudy, slightly murky orange hue with a huge, persistent light-beige foamy head. Dusty, moderately sweet and slightly sour-fruity aroma with light toasty notes and clovy spice. Sweet, slightly viscid initial wheat-malty taste, slightly toasted, banana-fruity; medium bodied with a pleasant carbonation; well-balanced, malty and moderately fruity finish with cinnamon and clovy spice. Aromatic and rounded Hefeweizen.
