COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

The fizzy nature of this beer spoiled it on many levels. The weak taste of the dark component of this beer was disappointing as well. Of course this beer is millions of times better than stuff like Becks, Molson, Newcastle and others beers that most people think are great.

Smooth summer style beer with a nice hint of sweetness to it. Decent color and head tops off this spicy finished beer. Good stuff.

Light amber with med head that dissipated very quickly. Citrusy and spicy aroma. Wonderful sweetness with great clove spiciness and a refreshing acidity. Zesty and refreshing, finishing with some green apples tones. Great flavor but not the total package.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2004 Head is initially large, frothy, off-white, fully lasting. Body is hazy medium amber, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted bread, caramel, nuts), moderately yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of banana, honey, and clove. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Very clean, consistent, and pleasantly aromatic. Succulent Ayinger malt. Delicious, and for me has always scored significantly higher than Schneider Weisse (the most common example of this older, darker weisse).

Hazy ot quite copper. Suspended yeast particles throughout with nice head. Nose of bananas, spices and maybe apple. Soft, lively and almost creamy in the mouth. Flavors of cloves, spice, apples, and yeast. Maybe a tad too sweet? Pretty good and quite quaffable.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2003 Nice cloudy copperish brown appearance. Snow white head that stayed around for the duration. Body a little less that medium with high carbonation. A little light on the palate. Fruity, spicy flavor with hint of clove. Very drinkable and enjoyable beer. Almost as good as Aventinus.

I wasn’t terribly fond of the nose and taste of fermented apple juice, espically not with a wheat beer. Way too carbonated.

nose of apple, and spices, color is medium brown, cloudy, sweet flavor, sweet finish of spices, I enjoyed this beer, although I’m not very familiar with this style.
