COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Aroma: Lots of banana and bubblegum with hints of clove. Appearance: Dark gold, cloudy, with a minimal head. Taste: Medium sweetness with slightly sour finish. Palate: Full body, creamy texture, lively carbonation with a long, but dry, finish. Overall: I really like this beer, and it’s almost a go to wheat for me, but I’m slowly becoming disenchanted, making this an above average brew, but not the mind blowing experience that it once was. Too much of a good thing, I guess.

Bottle. Medium amber with a thick head. Aroma of banana, caramel, clove, some biscuits. Crackery malt flavor with banana, clove, a touch of honey and caramel. Not quite dunkel, but the character is there. Great balance. Great stuff.

Tap at their Munich beerhall. Pillowy white head with great retention; muddy dark brown and some rusty orange for the color. Loads of bananas that dominate the aroma. Bananas continue strong into the flavor but still tart and a little sour. Finishes with residual banana sweetness and bubblegum hints. Pretty good stuff.

Apples and cloves inside a full bodied dark haze. Yummy! The head stays with the beer. Great drink. Bakery bread smell.

Moving on from the straight up Hefe I went a little dunkel this friday afternoon. Pours a dirty swamp water yellow with huge milk shake thick head. tastes of cloves, wheat, some fruit, and roasted malts. Nice transition beer from the light of day towards sunset.

One of the best Hefes out there. It is rich and darker than your average Hefe. I like the cloves in it.
