COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

(Bottle). Very cloudy, rather murky light brown colour. Like most weissbiers it pours with a large head. Plenty of cloves, ripe bananas, oak and hints of smoke in aroma and flavour. A little more hops for the aftertaste would have been nice, but this is none the less a first class hefe-weizen. Recommended! (Thanks, joss!)

50 cl. bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with a powerful and stormy beige head. The aroma is quite nice; moslty banana and malt. The taste is pretty unique; malts and grain/wheaty flavors combined with a fruity banana taste. Really a nice easygoing drink.

Bottle. Medium amber with a thick head. Aroma of banana, caramel, clove, some biscuits. Crackery malt flavor with banana, clove, a touch of honey and caramel. Not quite dunkel, but the character is there. Great balance. Great stuff.

Hazy orange color with a large frothy off-white head. Sweet banana and malt aroma. Sweet banana flavor with a wheat edge.

Head tastes of apples and pears. Its wheaty, light and lofty, but also a little heavy. Not quite as good as the great czech dunkels, but certainly nice. The finish is rather sticky, like a minty belgian ale perhaps.

Dark coppery color, very cloudy appearance. Little vanishing white head. Strong banana aroma with mild spices. High carbonation. Flavor has banana, mild caramel and citrus, ends with lasting dryness and biting carbonation. Thin to medium bodied. Too much carbonation, still nice refreshing dunkelweizen.

500mL into weizen glass. The pour is a clear (?) gold with a fizzy head. No retention or lace. Nose is sugar and medium yeasty esters. Taste is burnt apple and soap water. So far from Weihenstephaner Dunkel it is hysterical.
