COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

A full bodied hefeweizen. Dark brown with a very large cream colored head. Powerful wheat aroma. Wheat, citrus, banana, and herbs in the flavor. Good.

Aroma: Good malt aroma with some light fruit aromas lingering.
Appearance: Amber in color, Hazy with a thin head.
Flavor: Malty beer with some spices lingering this was a good representation of the style.
Palate: Dry Wheat Finish, with a Good Mouthfeel.
Overall: Had to have one here in Leavenworth WA it was over 99 degrees and I needed a cold beer.

Looks great! Cloudy and with an amber colour. Huge thick head. Aroma of fresh bananas, wheat, caramel, salmon and lemon. Smooth and fruity flavour of yeast, banana, roasted malt, pears and lemon. Smooth, fruity and yeasty finish with a moderate carbonation.

Dark colour, especially for a wheat. Same semi-opaque characteristics, and a similar wheaty smell. A stronger flavour than any other wheat, but definately good. No banana/clove/yeasty characteristics you would expect from a wheat, but definately good nonetheless. Good head and carbonation.

Bottle: Malty aroma with some apples and some other "weird" aroma that I must say I’m not real fond of. Pours a very hazy orange with a medium head but not a lot of retention. Very malty taste with very sweet finish. Definite banana and some cloves. A lot of apple flavor in the finsh increases the sweetness of this beer. A nice beer, but that odd aroma will drop the rating slightly, and not indicate how much I actually like this beer.

Bottle courtesy of Plucier: Poured a dirty and cloudy dark beige color beer with a huge foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of banana bread is very dominant and enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by the banana bread with some ester notes. Body is above average with some great carbonation. This is definitely a style that I don’t have a chance to try very often but thought was very interesting but maybe a bit one-dimensional.
