COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Bottle @ Coles, Buffalo NY. Nice beer. Pours a slightly murky cloudy burnt orange. Bready, clovy banana aroma. Malty hefe with caramel sweetness balanced nicely with yeastiness oif a hefe. Good beer

Tried with lemon. Hazy orange pour. Aroma is typical of wheat. Taste without lemon was a mix of wheat grains with a soft bland finish. The addition of lemon provided the citrus kick that was missing and made for an excellent wheat.

Bottle from BevMo. A nice dunkelweizen. Refreshing as hell. Hazy orangish brown color with a substantial head. Aroma of wheat, banana, and yeast. Flavor is more of the same, along with orange peel and other dried fruits. Smooth palate with medium carbonation.

Bottle, poured into Ayinger glass. Explosive, white head dominates the glass, leaving only an inch or two for beer. Gold color with aroma of bubblegum and yeasty banana. Extra smooth body, almost creamy. Fruits are peach and apple. Other than the texture theres not much thats memorable about this.

This brewed poured a medium-large white head with small-medium bubbles. There was very little lacing on the sides of my glass. Carbonation was observed rising to the top. It had a fruity aroma to it and it was a bit on the watery side. I did not notice any bitterness or aftertaste with this brew; however, I was disappointed with this brew as I expected it to be better since it is brewed by Ayinger.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2011 I am fond of this beer but tend to gravitate towards their Brau Weiss more. +++ Sampled from a 16.9 oz brown bottle. The beer pours tan color - very opaque. Has a large tan head that slowly dissipates. There is a mild sour-sweet aroma. The taste is sweetish with a heavy wheat flavor. There is a bready, wheat taste that lingers on the palate. A very nice Dunkelweizen.
