3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 GreatLibations (1771) - Last Supper, Arizona, USA - OCT 13, 2006
Pours slightly hazed tawny honey w/ medium semi creamy froth. Aroma is weak w/ banana spice. Light nectar w/ ample residual effers. Flavors are on the delicate side w/ typical wheat flavors that are brightly exposed and other spices. The finish has a high crisp bittering. Overall: crisp, clean, and refreshing but certainly not my favorite.

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2003 Vigorous head. Bready aroma. Medium brown color. Malt/yeast flavors predominate, but definate fruity notes. I thought it was OK, but then I'm not a big weissbier fan.

One word, delicious. Pours light copper, only slightly cloudy, but mostly see through. Head is huge 3 inches plus, and settles down to an inch or so. Head is very thick and frothy. Aroma of medium wheat malt, and dark banana, and dry lemon/orange peel. Flavor is fizzy, wheat malty, but light, and has notes of apple, banana, vanilla, and clove. Finish is full flavored, body is medium. Aftertaste is clean. Another great beer from Aying.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Murphy (1759) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JAN 7, 2004
Most of my hefe experience comes from Widmer, so here goes. This had a bigger body, but more diminished citrus notes. Taste was slightly acidic. Well done but not amazing. Maybe a good session beer, I liked it.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 oteyj (1753) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 26, 2009
Pours hazy peach with billowing beige head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of grapefruit, lemon, clove, and a touch of nutmeg. Very pronounced and complex. Flavor strikes a most excellent balance of malty sweetness, a welcomed hop backbone, and a throughly complex and pronounced spice aspect. Caramel, brown sugar and toffee give way to a subtle and caressing citrus character, and finally a delicious addition of clove and coriander. Palate is thick, smooth and full, allowing for a sugary coating followed by a slight dryness. Delicious.

From Bottle. Pours a hazy orange with medium head and carbonation that dissapates quickly. Yeasty bread aroma. Bread flavor with a dry hop finish. Not a bad brew.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Cybercat (1736) - Georgia, USA - MAR 15, 2008
Aroma is strong and "wheaty" with a bit of an alcohol nip and a hint of citrus. Color is a cloudy, light brownish amber, translucent but not clear. Flavor is strongly wheaty, with just a whisper of citrus, no hoppy or bitter taste. It dances on the tongue as it goes down and leaves a pleasant aftertaste. I recommend it to all weizen fans.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 ClubGonzo (1736) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 14, 2010
Bottle. Pours a murky brown body topped by a crown of white foam which lingers on the sides of the glass. Nose is delicious: banana, a touch of clove and notes of yeast. These flavors are also evident in the taste; Ayinger Ur-Weisse is very well blended and with a fresh, almost tap-like palate and fruity feeling, in spite of the clear and present malty notes. Yummy. Sweet and well-rounded at the same time, this is really a dunkel weizen I could drink a lot of.
