COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Bottle. A sweet smell, strong aroma of bananas and some yeast and champagne. The white creamy head is medium large and has a long duration. The body is dark orange, lively and cloudy. The taste is a mixture of light bitter and sour, rather short. The body is light, creamy and with a lively carbonation. A good solid Weizen.

From bottle. Pours a beautiful orange with a sizable cream head. Smells of fruit, wheat and malt. Palate features medium body and carbonation. Flavor of mild fruit and wheat. Finishes sweet, spicy with some banana. Really nice “whispy” wheat quality that is crisp and refreshing. Good, but not as vibrant as I had hoped.

UPDATED: MAY 9, 2005 Beautiful cloudy orange with a huge foamy off-white head. Spicy nose and fruity taste ... pretty much what I expected from this wheat beer after I saw the color. And it looked just the way it was supposed to. Mouth was a little thin, but then this is pretty low alcohol stuff and packing great taste. // rerated 9 May 2005 at this beer is nolhing to celebrate. Not enough of anything ... mouth, nose, complexity. A pretty straight forward, pretty simple wheat, without much spice or sweetness or any of the things that make a wheat special.

They're on the mark.

bottle poured a brown amber color with a thick foamy two finger white head. aroma has banana yeast, clover, banana bread, wheat, and light spice. the best banana aroma I have found yet. mouth feel is light with plenty of carbonation. flavor has a bit more malt, wheat, banana, yeast, picks up in sweetness, wheat and some light fruit. the carbonation level keeps this from getting too watery.

Bottle. Look: Hazy dark orange (almost brown). Smell: Sweet, fruity and spicy in a way that reminds me of a sahti. Orange, apple, banana etc, with honey and some stinky cheese. Taste: Very fruity! Also some christmas spices and vanilla. Nice bitterness in aftertaste. Overall: A little too sweet for me, but it’s definitely a good brew. Keep up the good work Ayinger!

Bottle at ÖBWF 2010. It poured a hazy golden liquid with an orange tint, small white head. Flavour of yeast, foam banana and wheat. Fresh and easy to drink.
