17 oz. bottle into weizen glass, Crescent Moon Ale House, Omaha NE. Hazy but mostly clear brownish yellow orange; sizable fluffy off-white head that is mostly lasting with a thick, sliding lacing on the side of the glass. Lots of visible carbonation cascading up the glass. Ruby tones to the color in the light. Smells of sweat, orange peel, lemon zest, spices, bread and yeast. Same wheaty malt and creamy dark malt flavors as Aventinus with some orange and mango acidity. Somewhat biting carbonation at first, mellows after a while. Musty malt backbone gives great body, which is accented by barely noticable European hops with no bittering influence. Finish is malty and nicely acidic. This almost tastes "warm" and ciderish due to the spicy flavors: nutmeg, cinnamon, corriander, black peppercorn. Sour apple flavors lurk underneath everything as well. Wonderfully complex flavor; perfect crisp yet medium to full bodied mouthfeel. I liked it a lot.

Bottle, murky brown orange, nice white head and lace. Big banana yeast, wheat aroma of course, soft and strong together. Nice full body (for a wheat), well balanced and refreshing, not too much of a dunkel but better than the regular ayinger hefeweiss; lively yet soft carbonation.

Bottle 52F Weizen, Slighty sweet aroma, but mostly dominated by light yeast smells, very light aroma, slight esters very slight. Pour with a thick light beige head, it is a dark copper cloudy color, with a few dark specks floating inside the glass, decent retention leaves a lasting tan ring. Taste of yeast, with a touch of cinammon, flavor of bannana, fruity finish yet leaves the mouth fairly dry, just a touch of spice, no real notice of malts, well maybe just subtly, very subtly. Good carbonation on the tongue, but a bit light in the mouth, I was expecting just a bit more mouthfeel. Plenty of carbontion and it pricks my tongue all over. There are plenty some good sour notes as one examines it longer, mostly yeast flavor, not as complex as I had hoped for, but still easily drinkable.

Yow. So good. By far the best wheat beer I’ve had. Intense flavor, with lots or fruit, clove, a bit of spice, mild german hops, and a bit of roasted malt. Lots of flavors to pick out. Dark color with a beautiful thick head. Very smooth, very satisfying, I could live with drinking only this for the rest of my life, if I had to.

A sun-tea like color. A yeasty, malt aroma. Somewhat light flavored, not as heavy as other dunkels. Smooth, fairly well balanced. Beer doesn't overwhelm the senses. The wheat flavors and aromas don't stand out, which is fine. Very drinkable.

pours a cloudy apple cider with a generous head that dissipates to 1/8". Taste is of banana pudding and vanilla wafers, finishing with a tart bitter carbonation. The finish lingers, moving back toward the bananas. A tasty brew, but a bit heavy for session drinking.

Pours cloudy brown with a huge head that fades very slowly. Aroma is of a strong hay and wheat with some banana. Flavor is wheat then caramel and banana, and a slight spice. Flavor is nice.

Pours amber-gold, cloudy, with an off-white diminishing head. Scent of apple, yeast, apricot, and an odd plant flavor. Taste is the same with the addition of yeast and wheat that comes through better as the beer warms. Oily mouthfeel, not unpleasant, that ends with the strange plant aftertaste. Good beer but the sum is less than the parts.

A nice dunkelweisse. Typical bananas, cloves, and spice. Good balance and very smooth. Ayinger does a good job, and this is one of my favorite dunkels.

Bottle. Poured a creamy tannish colour with a similiar coloured head. Bread on the nose with some spice. Flavor is malty wheat, some not so dry dried fruit and an unusual "buzzy" mouthfeel. This was somewhat disappointing as I was expecting more from this one, but all in all not bad either. Thanks to Secret Santa (Juy) for the bottle.
