bottle. I love this beer. Nice, spicy aroma and a weissebier flavor that fills your whole mouth. The dark malt gives it an extra meatiness that’s truly excellent.

Beautiful German wheat beer. Great to have it available here in Puerto Rico! Aroma somewhat yeasty. Finely bubbled foam that did not last until end of glass. Was expecting a dunkel weizen as promised on label but color is - eher mittel dunkel oder dunkel Gold. Nonetheless, the flavor is typical hefeweizen with slight banana and pineapple flavors dominating. A good solid and refreshing Hefeweizen.

Rather enjoyed this. A tarty refreshing little number. Typical wheat effervescence, but not overly foamy. Nice sharp mouthfeel, probably a combination of acid CO2 and wheat "bite". Little bit of banana and cloves, but thankfully not cloying. fairly fruity and very little hop coming through from beginning to end. Excellent for the odd refreshing glass or two.

From Fancy Grocery, NYC. Huge, creamy, off-white head that lasts forever. Muddy brown color and undying carbonated fizziness. Loads of fruit aromas: bananna, pear, pineapple, along with a light hop perfume. Cola, pepper, bread, and a slight solvent smell there too. Very complex and intriguing. Flavor a little dissapointing in comparison: caramel predominates, especially once the extreme fizziness dies down a bit. Very long, dry, bitter finish with a yeasty bite. Chewy, chalky palate. I’m a big fan of Ayinger’s beers, but this one was a bit of a let down. Could have been an old bottle.

Translucent in appearance with brownish coloration. Smells okay--wheaty. Tastes rather lightish, with some bananna and yeast taste.

This is a great, original-style Bavarian wheat beer. The color is light brown, the aroma just what you expect in such a style. Flavor is rich, fruity and satisfying. The high carbonation and pleasant hopping level make it a refreshing drink. One of the best.

Delicious. Thick, woodsy taste with the dominant tone being that of clove (peculiar, in my experience, but pleasant). Fizzy and sweet, a good brew.

An excellent alternative to Weihenstephaner when that isn’t available. The aroma is banana and clove goodness (as perhaps expected). Nice dark (slight haziness) color with a light head that quickly fades. I would recommend this to anyone who likes wheat. Don’t forget to try the Bell’s Wheat Series (most specifically the ’8’ and the ’Love Ale’)
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 wataru (11) - USA - MAR 17, 2007
Golden color with creamy white head.
Aroma is banana and spaciy, but not so strong. Mouthfeel is very smooth. Flavor is very nice: fruty, complex and great body. A little more bitter than general wheat beer.
