COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Nice. A bold wheaty brew that is also quite refreshing. A great brewery that really knows how to do its wheat beers.

60% barley 40% wheat. I don’t drink alot of wheat beers, so I’m not familiar with anything like this. The well-caramelized barley malt dominates up front with an almost Belgian earthy, bready aroma. Strong toffee, caramel, butterscotch flavors though the wheat makes its presence in a clean, tart finish. A great beer for a warm day when your thirst wants a weiss but your mind says - give me something chewy.

Lots of banana and biscuits, some cloves, light citrus, a tiny bit of indecipherable background fruit. Not much else. A very good German wheat beer.

Dry, large head, high carbonation, medium body, dark amber color. Taste very clean and crisp, subtle flavors of carmel, banana, citrus fruit, spice (clove?). Excellent.

Pours very cloudy murky deep copper/light amber. Nice frothy off white head. Lighter in color than most dunkelweizens. Aroma is light banana, hints of green apple and clove, along with nice bready hints form the yeast and malt. Flavor is slightly nutty, with hints of roast, but is moslty wheat followed by some fruity esters. Overall, this is very subdued and subtle, but very well done. Smooth and creamy palate, whith jsut a slight graininess.

A Hefe done right. Murky, dark golden appearance with a decent sized head and lacing. Aroma of bubble gum and yeast. Crisp muted citrus flavor with some bubble gum notes and a velvety mouthfeel make this a winner. 5.8% alcohol hidden extremely well.

Bottled. Dark golden coloured. Hazy. Dense off white head. Aroma of yeast, banana, cloves and vague caramel. Flavour of light smoke, yeast, banana, light cloves. Medium to full bodied. Dry yeasty and bubblegum dense end. Not your ordinary dunkelweisse in my book. Is more like an ordinary hefe. And a dammed good one.

A real smacker. I mean that in a good way - smack, smack, like it's tasty, you know. It is a fine competitor with the Ayinger Brau-Weisse. It's funny how Ayinger, one of the best breweries in the world, seems to compete with itself. This pours a beautiful orangish-amber colour. The taste is crisp and yeasty, refreshing and complicated, simple and intriguing. Truly a fine brew.
