COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Aroma of banana, citrus, yeast and somewhat spicyness. Cloudy, orange coloured with a lasting, creamy, off-white head. Taste is sweet with banana, citrus, yeast and some earthy/bread like background. Quite nice, well bodied and refreshing weizen.

From bottle at Haket. Cloudy pale orange with medium-sized creamy head. Fruity aroma with elegant banana touch along with peat and clove. Big-ish body with light acidity, nice fruitiness and light phenolic, as in tin. Rounded smooth mouthfeel. Great hefe yet again!

1/2 l bottle. Cloudy orange yellow, nice white head. Not as dark as one would want or expect. Malty aroma, clove and a touch of banana. Smooth malty flavor, clove and banana. Nice even carbonation. Well made brew, not quite a dunkelweizen, but a decent weizen none-the-less.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2007 500 ml bottle. Medium brown appearance with little head, unlike other posters here. Not much going on in the aroma department, maybe some apple and clove, but slight. Well carbonated, full mouthful. Apple and clove again come to the forefront here in the flavor, and I’m reminded of apple crisp. Good beer all around.

typical aroma with yeast and hay. the flavor is richer and much maltier than a hefe. tastes like a highly carbonated nutty banana bread with a little spicy kick at the end. very well balanced and refreshing

A dark golden cloudy beer. The aroma is a sweet honey, fruity, a bit doughy and a note of floral and bannanas. A sweet honey, with bannanas, flowers, vanilla, a hint of apples and wheat. Has a light to medium light body. A creamy mouthfeel. A quick finish that doesn’t linger. Overall is a very good beer

Murky orangey brown, off-white big cloudy head. Nose is banana, strong bubblegum and yeasty wheat. Spicy and wheaty flavor, ripe bananas. Some earthiness and a lot of yeast in the finish. Medium bodied, foamy palate. One of the best weizens I’ve had.
