COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Extremely smooth on the palate. Unparalled color and clarity for a weiss. Beautiful buequet with a hint of cloves and spicey fruit. Very good head with a strong carbonation. Excellent weiss.

500 ml bottle - muddy orange with thin white head; cloves, bananas, yeasty, lemony goodness; full bodied with soft texture and flavors of creamy, wheat and cloves; definitely heavy on the cloves mixed with lemony sweetness; quite tasty overall

From the 500 ml. bottle. The pour is medium to deep amber, with a bit of a haze, and a tremendous, frothy head. The aroma is bountiful with wheat, spicey clove, and a banana-like fruitiness. Little to no hop character. The body is rich and creamy with a a small cane sugar sweetness balancing out the taste. Perfect for summer.

sample from the bottle at The 2009 Great Decatur Beer Festival on 10/17/09... pours a cloudy golden with a white head... some sweet yeast and light citrus notes on the nose... banana and light spice over the body... nice clean finish - one of the better wheat beers I’ve had...

banana aroma with deep roast is reminiscent of banana bread without the spice. deep malt flavor accentuates the softer edges. great.

500ml bottle. Pours a murky brownish amber with a big creamy beige head that recedes very slowly to a thick cap of foam, leaving some nice lacing. Aroma is sweet with lots of wheat presence but with plenty of dark malts as well. There are other sweet fruit notes with apples and pears and a healthy dose of cloves and even some citrus. Taste is honey-coated bananas with dark roasted malts. It still tastes mostly like an amped up hefe with the yeast dominating though the malts add a nice layer underneath. The finish has a nice mellow spiciness. The mouthfeel is highly carbonated, very active on the palate, almost too active but it’s OK since the body is pretty meaty for the style. Another fantastic beer from Aying, who really know their way around a wheat beer. I could drink this all night.

Pours hazy peach with billowing beige head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of grapefruit, lemon, clove, and a touch of nutmeg. Very pronounced and complex. Flavor strikes a most excellent balance of malty sweetness, a welcomed hop backbone, and a throughly complex and pronounced spice aspect. Caramel, brown sugar and toffee give way to a subtle and caressing citrus character, and finally a delicious addition of clove and coriander. Palate is thick, smooth and full, allowing for a sugary coating followed by a slight dryness. Delicious.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2011 Cloudy orange with redish hints in the look. Frothy white and light tan head. Grass, spices, herbs and the hint of something sweet too in the aroma wich is subtle overall. Herbal taste, lightly bitter and lightly sour. Medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation . The herbal hints together with the light bitternes and sourness are present in the after taste. Good for summer days like today!
