COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Bottle in trade with Bonster. Full pour in wheat beer glass yeilds a darker toned center column with a hazy honey tan encompassing it. It slowly blends together for a caramel haze with a tight white head. Nose of creals and wheat malt. Soft rounded body has tones of pear and scaramel apples. wheat /yeast tang offset the subtle sweetness. Clove and citrussy finish spark the tastebuds for more.

From a bottle poured a cloudy amber color with a good amount of head. Nice sweet malty cirus flavor with a lasting finish.

Poured out a thick and creamy light tan crown with nice retention and splotchy lacing. The aroma is strong but not overpowering with banana bread, cloves and pink bubblegum. The flavour is really well put together with more banana bread and cloves, weak but rich malts and an underlying shortlived bitterness. Medium bodied with lots and lots of carbonation (not annoying), not really all that smooth for mouthfeel but there is obvious tartness throughout. Finishes fairly dry. Just picked up a caramel note? Well done although I’ll still take a non-banana bomb Hefe over it.

The Ayinger Ur-Weisse pours as a dark yellow color (not quite gold). The aroma has doughy yeast, light but noticeable hops, and something of a fruity essence. As I sip the beer, it has a pleasant sourness, and I catch more of the strong aroma as well. This is a somewhat harsh beer, but it has a good body. As a whole, I’m quite pleased with this beer from Ayinger!

Aroma is spicy with scents of coriander, clove, banana and roasted malt. Color is a deep hazy gold with light carbonation and a thin head. Taste creamy and fruity. Starting with a medium body that leans a little on the light side, it goes down with a creamy feel. Finish come in with sweet roasted malt then some mellow Hefe like flavors (coriander and banana ). After taste is fruity with the banana lingering on. This is a great example of a Dunkelweizen, very Hefe like with nice roasted tones.

Bottle. Ayinger never disappoints. Lovely dark brown unflitered appearance. Slightly better than the Franziskaner Dunkel Weiss. Drinkable and subtle. Treat yourself!

Pours golden orange/amber. Lots of carbonation, a large head results. Malty, yeasty aroma. Some fruits as well. Flavor is rich with yeasty, fruity, malt sweetness, spicy notes, subtle sourness, and an ever so slight roasty finish. Tasty brew.
