COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

All around good brew from my view. The best hefe-weizen I've had to date. Lots of carbonation and very yeasty are the things I notice.

Cloudy Orangey brown, with a sloppy, thin head. Spicy, bready, toasty aroma, perhaps with a hint of sourdough. Flavor is surprisingly fruity - raisin & prunes, mostly - with a solid pumpernickel and peppery finish.

Malty, banana, yeasty aroma. Pours a cloudy amber color with a big, rocky head. Very malty and I detect a little bit of clove flavoring in the finish. Nice wheat beer.

A solid german wheat. Flavor is very typical of the style. cloudy orang brown color, yeasty aroma, citrus and wheaty flavor followed by a sugary/candy finish. I did pick out a very distinct banana flavor which was a little diffrent than expected. Very enjoyable. A superb beer for the summertime.

Poured a murky, sort of nasty looking brown, with loads of chunky yeast bits swirling about. I usually go for this, but it really did appear kind of nasty. Good head though. Aroma of cloves and apples. Nice yeasty flavor, flavor follows the aroma spot on, maybe a touch of faint banana. Ugly, but nice.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2007 This Ayinger offering spills into my stemmed glass a rich, hazy copper colour and forms a billowy off-white head, tall and creamy. Strong yeast by-products dominate the aroma in the form of juicy bananas and sweet bubblegum. Behind that impression can be found woodsy, floral hops and a toasted malt accent. The flavour offers significantly more depth, bringing slightly tangy pecans and sweet, creamy apple butter together initially. At the finish is the soft presence of Prince of Whales tea with honey and softly sweet benne wafers. Pleasantly light notes of caramel appear in the aftertaste. Whereas the aroma is soft and sweet, the flavour brings in a building tanginess for balance. The body is suitably full for the style, not so thin as to feel lacking, nor so thick as to prevent refreshment. The creamy texture and fine, champagne-like carbonation aid in the imminent drinkability of this beer.

UPDATED: DEC 24, 2005 Bottle. Pours golden orange/amber. Lots of carbonation, a large head results. Malty, yeasty aroma. Some fruits as well. Flavor is rich with yeasty, fruity, malt sweetness, spicy notes, subtle sourness, and an ever so slight roasty finish. Tasty brew.
