COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Bottle. Very mild toasty yeast and clove aroma. Cloudy amber color, foamy head. Overall very good hefe, not dark... A light dunkel. Refreshing, not as sweet as a straight hefe. Very good.

Pours a hazy brown with a swelling head that diminshes immediately leaving behind some nice lacine. Smells of banana and sweet dark malts are most accessible. Other aromas of sweet fruits, some clove, maybe a touch of coriander and maybe even some orange. The clove really comes through and is very easy to taste. Other flavors of sweet banana, apple, sweet malts and a fresh bread like quality comes through. Very lively carbonation on the mouthfeel. The finish is a bit sweet, clean, yet a bit spicy. Very nice.

Bottle. Enjoyed this beer thoroughly. Had this in the beginning of introduction to craft beer. Tasted like a hefeweizen with more to it.

Amber in color with a very frothy, white head. Banana dominates the nose with a bit of spiciness. So easy to drink! Banana and malts make up the flavor with a hint of apple in the finish.

Bottle - pours brownish yellow and very hazy. Solid beige head. Flavors of toasted grains, banana, bread, and a slight hint of cloves and coriander. Felt and tasted like a complex wheat, which isn’t very common. Very good beer with a solid mouthfeel.

Great brew for a hot summer day. Pours a hazy dark orange with a tall white head. Good spice and floral hops in the aroma along with a great wheat smell. Very smooth and wheaty taste that finishes with some nice spice left behind and a slightly fruity hop finish.

Ayinger makes solid wheat beers in the true german style. Unfortunately, I don’t remember much else about this beer. Adding notes from last few months, have not been able to comment perfectly on each beer. I blame the beer.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2009 Bottled. Pours really hazy and brownishly orange with a beautiful, thick head. Nice aroma is yeasty, wheaty, fruity (mainly banana) and slightly spicy. When cold this is really carbonated and therefore appears to be quite acidic, but as it warms up the beer gets softer and turns very sweet. Flavor is aromatic, fruity (banana), yeasty and wheaty. This was the first, though probably not the last wheat beer that I liked.
