COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Moving on from the straight up Hefe I went a little dunkel this friday afternoon. Pours a dirty swamp water yellow with huge milk shake thick head. tastes of cloves, wheat, some fruit, and roasted malts. Nice transition beer from the light of day towards sunset.

500 mL into Weissen glass Color was a hazy straw brown. Light tan head. Left medium level of lacing. Aroma was of clove and bananas (similar to a hefewissen). Taste was similar. Roasted fruits and nuts were present also. Mouthfeel is smooth at first and then goes down creamy. It has a sticky aftertaste. Overall, I really enjoyed this beer. $4 for a half liter is kinda steep, but I think it was worth it. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 12-14-2008 08:12:51

16.9 Oz. Pours a pretty amber with good head that hangs around. Aroma is fruity esters, yeasty, banana, clove with some bready notes in the back. Taste follows with the aroma quite fluently very dry with a medium tartness maybe some slight alcohol . Finish is dry and clean. Very tasty brew!

Pours almost the same as an Orval - which is a good thing. Huge white, pillowy head, cloudy amber. But that’s where the similarities stop: this has banana, clove, wheat in the nose. Make no mistake, this is a German beer. Some fruit notes hit the palate, perhaps banana and apple, but here the wheat dominates. This is a nice beer, and I’m glad to have tried it.

Pours a dark, cloudy, yellow with a full three finger fluffy head and nice lacing. Fruity and light smell, very much like a hefeweizen, less like a Dunkel. Clove and Banana dominate the nose. Very smooth taste. Apples and bananas predominantly, rounded out by some spiciness. Dry finish. Smack of carbonation as you drink, medium bodied.
