theisti (1033), Leawood, Kansas, USA Mar 13, 2007 Bottle. Pour is hazy brown / orange with a pillowy white head. Took quite some time for the head to settle. Aroma is malt, yeast and wheat. Some sweetness too, but smooth. Initial taste is a malt and wheat, balanced perfectly. Finish is the sweetness and a nice bitter. Extremely drinkable, reminds me why I love well made German beers.
EricE (225), Beltsville, Maryland, USA Aug 22, 2008 Hazy orange-brown pour with a very thick silky head. Wheaty aroma with lots of spice and some funky yeast. Dry cloves and spices. Lots of wheat flavor with a bit of yeast. Slightly tart with citrus and lemon notes as well as apple and banana. Very fruity and delicious. Crisp, refreshing, easy to drink beer. sstackho (249), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 18, 2008 500mL bottle purchased for $3.30 - I think it was from Wine Emporium in Boston. Freshness unknown. An interesting pour into a weisse glass. Started off light, getting much darker as the bottom of the bottle was poured in. Although I swished the end of the bottle lots to shake up the sediment, there were still numerous chunks in the glass... so I stirred it with a spoon! My first time ever doing that. The end product is a cloudy grey-gold. Medium aroma of a typical weisse - yeast, banana and bubblegum. Taste is solid. Quite yeasty, which gives it a bit more of a spicy character perhaps than some other weisses.
CaptBier (240), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Aug 17, 2008 Bottle. A muddy orange brown beer with a huge off-white head. The aroma is extremely sweet with strong notes of banana and wheat. The flavor is very sweet and acidic with notes of banana, wheat, and citrus with a dry sour end. The body is thin. Mitch_Wayne (100), Kokkola, Finland Aug 16, 2008 Oh yes, this is what I look in for when it comes to wheat beer. Big banana and wheat aroma and a balanced sweetness in the taste. While this is not too complex I love the creaminess a lot. This must be the best companion to strawberries I have ever had. Guerde (471), Welcome, Minnesota, USA Aug 16, 2008 (bottle) Pours hazy light brown with a voluminous white head. Aroma of toasted grain, light bubblegum, wheat, and banana. Some bread appears as well. This aroma tends to veer more towards weizenbock territory, although it is far less potent but still nice to smell. Taste is lightly roasted initially, with a nice mid-palate of caramel and plum that yields to a crisp wheat finish that erases all of the sweetness which was originally present. The mouthfeel is medium. This is a very solid beer that doesn’t overly impress, yet doesn’t disappoint either.
