Pours a hazy amber with a white, rocky head. Very sweet with aormas of banana and cereals. Hint of bread too. Full bodied. Soft carbonation. The finish is sweet, with some bitterness and a hint of bread. I like most of it apart form the finish.

0.5L on draft at Ayinger’s Speis und Trank during 2007 Oktoberfest in Munich
When you’re tired of the tents and fairgrounds of Oktoberfest and want to sit and savor some of the greatest liquids on God’s green Earth, walk through the Marienplatz and head to Speis und Trank. This beer was 0.5L of heaven in a glass. Truly a memorable dark wheat offering from one of the best brewers you’ll find (in my humble opinion, obviously). Wonderful clove aromas augment a beautiful malt flavor that just seduces the front of your taste buds. I believe that this beer went into a wooden barrel less than 24 hours before I drank it. The freshness was that apparent. This is a near-perfect brew, one that did not disappoint my lofty expectations for Ayinger. On par for this style in quality as is Ayinger’s Celebrator for the doppelbock style. Damn fine.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle bought at the Brauereigastof in Aying in June 07 and enjoyed at home in Tromsø from an original Ayinger glass. Served slightly chilled. Hazy, pale orange body supported by a creamy, white head, slowly fading. Enjoying aroma of overripe banana blend with clove. Balanced taste of sweet sappy and acidulous fruits. Wheaty freshness is also noticeable. Moderate yeasty ending. More weizen than bock, but still very pleasant to drink (Tromsø, 08.09.2007).

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice tasting, solidly crafted beer. Not as yeasty as most others of the style, noticeable but not overwhelming spice which matches nicely with the more laid back style. Balanced hops with the slightly sweet malt taste. Good overall effort.
Available locally as individual oversized 500ml bottles.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. An unclear orange beer with a big but collapsing white head. The aroma is wheaty and has notes of banana. Not enough "bocky" taste for a Weizen Bock but quite sweet with banana and cloves notes. Medium to full body, quite long aftertaste. A nice beer.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled at Teerenpeli Kaisaniemi, Helsinki. Muddy pale orange, creamy head. Powerful aroma of banana and cloves. Less sweet than many other weizenbocks and more drinkable. Mild and nowhere near overpowering. Like a hefeweizen just ramped up one small notch.

Sweet banana nose, wheaty clues. Taste is full bodied, sweet, bitter, maybe even peppery, and has a great finish.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Aroma of almonds, cloves and alcohol. Reddish honey colour, with a long-lasting white head. Taste like almost and alcohol. Nothing that special actually, but a good beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hazy orange beer with an orange-tinted head. Overwhelming banana/citrrus nose, top-fruity. Sweetish, fruit-sour, very citrussy flavours, going on fruity forever. Full bodied, quite spritzy MF. Another typical one. German breweries tend to keep within a very small frame indeed.
