omhper (19974) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JUN 21, 2007
Bottled at Teerenpeli Kaisaniemi, Helsinki. Muddy pale orange, creamy head. Powerful aroma of banana and cloves. Less sweet than many other weizenbocks and more drinkable. Mild and nowhere near overpowering. Like a hefeweizen just ramped up one small notch.

500ml Bottle (Gallows Bird, Espoo) Sweet banana nose, wheaty clues. Taste is full bodied, sweet, bitter, maybe even peppery, and has a great finish.

Tranquillity (1422) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - APR 7, 2007
Aroma of almonds, cloves and alcohol. Reddish honey colour, with a long-lasting white head. Taste like almost and alcohol. Nothing that special actually, but a good beer.

Hazy orange beer with an orange-tinted head. Overwhelming banana/citrrus nose, top-fruity. Sweetish, fruit-sour, very citrussy flavours, going on fruity forever. Full bodied, quite spritzy MF. Another typical one. German breweries tend to keep within a very small frame indeed.

mabjork (674) - Vasa, FINLAND - MAR 8, 2007
Bottled. Hazy pale yellow in colour. Rich creamy and bubbly white head. The aroma is wheaty and yeasty with dried fruit. The flavour is surprisingly sweet with wheat and a alcoholic and yeasty aftertaste

(33cl bottle, shared by pivnizub, with greetings to Jonas !) Cloudy, orange colour with a fluffy, persistent, slightly off-white foamy head. Moderately sweet malty, wheaty and chalky aroma with light fruity notes (citrus, banana) and restrained clovy notes. Sweet flavour, medium bodied with a velvety mouthfeel. Wheat-malty, moderately fruity (banana) taste; medium-sweet, slightly clove-spicy finish with a well-integrated, warming alcoholic and refreshing slightly sour-fruity (citrus) notes. Pleasant and balanced.

Bottle (by kind permission of joss !): Cloudy, golden coloured, quite stable, mid-sized head; moderate sweet-wheaty nose with a bunch of bananas and cloves in the background; medium bodied, solid sweet flavour, soft, thick MF; citrus fruit in the sweet-wheaty-alcoholic finish. Again a well crafted brew from Aying.............

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2008 Bottle. Cloudy orange, violent carbonation, big off-white head. Minerally and light fruity nose. Banana, cherry and marzipan flavor. Somewhat light of the palate but with a a lightly oily and heavy finish. Apricots and banana retronasal. Solid body, light sparkly mouthfeel.

Draught. Hazy dark orange colour, small white head. Wheat and fruits in aroma. Wheat, yeast and fruits in flavour. Hides the alcohol well, though it gives the beer a slightly "warmer" touch than normal weizens do.

(Draught@Amsterdam, Helsinki, 7.1% ABV) Opaque yellow-orange color with a smallish, creamy head. Very fruity, but not very bananaish, slightly sweet aroma. Extremely fruity, lightly yeasty flavor with warming, but not intrusive alcohol. Not very complex, but balanced. Medium-bodied, balanced palate with soft carbonation. Well-hidden ABV, refreshing and not too sweet. A very enojyable, balanced and full enough weizenbock. The alcohol feels warming and adds to the enjoyment, instead of ruining it. Well done!
