Very hazy, toasty orange color with a small head that retains very well. Big wheat and yeast aroma. Lots of banana, clove, bubblegum, wheat, and a bit of citrus. Sweet flavor with creamy mouthfeel. Nice finish on this one.

Pours a light hazy orange color with a lot of white head, could be a little darker for a Weizen Bock. Strong banana aroma. Medium bodied with a nice sweet banana and malt flavor.

Pours cloudy tan with a fluffy white head. Aroma is very nice and balanced with sweet malt, cinnamon, gingerbread, cloves, grass, hay, wheat, caramel, and banana is nicely in the background. Tastes follows suit with Sweet bread dough malt, sweet potato, caramel, cloves, grass, ginger, and plenty of pungent (rather than fruity) yeast qualities. Finishes earthy and gentle, like a sweet sourdough bread. Not heavy, but not light, high carbonation without being irritating, and effortless to drink. As big and well-made as Aventinus, but with a lighter colored beer. Hell yes!!

Bottle. Pour was dark golden with a frothy head. Aroma was of wheat, some sweet malt, Light orange, Clove, and slight banana. Body was medium to light with well blended flavors making this a real easy beer to drink. You can’t really go wrong very often with Ayinger.

500mL bottle. Honey-gold color, hazy, moderate head, fades down to a persistent head. Banana-pineapple citrus aroma - good & appetizing. I guess it’s just a little different than a hefeweizen in that it’s a bit stronger, but the body is about the same. It has some lemon and herbal notes.

Bottle. Pours a very very murky yellowish orange--probably the Whole Foods bagger’s fault for tossing the bottle in my bag horizontally. Big bubbly white head, not much lace. The aroma is very spicy with hints of clove and bananas and even some vanilla--like a traditional hefe. The flavor is pretty much the same. I don;t normally like hefe’s or wheats, but this beer is damn tasty and refreshing. Not overly spicy and astringent like many. Smooth and easy going. Medium to light body with medium carbonation. Overall: a standout beer in its category.

500ml bottle into a weizen glass. Pours a couldy brownish-orange with a one finger fluffy white head. Great head retention but really no lacing at all. Aroma is the usual banana and spice notes but there is an extra touch of citrus in there that I was not expecting. A touch of caramel in the nose helps mix things up a bit. The flavor has strong bubblegum and banana notes with some caramel lingering underneath. There are more subtle hints of spices in the way of coriander and some orange peel but i believe it is from the yeast. Alcohol is completely hidden and other than a fuller mouthfeel, there is no way to tell that this is stronger than a typical hefe. Overall, I really love this beer! There is a real richness from the aroma and flavor along with very well-hidden alcohol. One to work into the regular rotation.

Bottle. Yellow pour with a massive frothy white head. Aroma of wheat and lemons. Great medium bodied taste of wheat, cloves, citrus and bread with a lasting slightly sweet finish.
