Bottle from the Orland Park, IL, Binny’s: This pours a hazy yellow body with a substantial head and laces the glass nicely. The aroma is sweet and doughy with fresh bananas and a light spiciness. Pretty much the same wth the flavor, except that it has a hit of alcohol near the end. Except for that hit and a dryness to the finish, I would’ve been sure that this was a hefeweizen.

16.9 oz. bottle, consumed on 3-28-10. Bubblegum and banana scents with a touch of lemon. Light yeast and dusty smells. Very pleasant and appetizing aroma. Pours a surprisingly pale, hazy, yellow-gold with good effervescence. The color is not all that far from that of a typical pale lager. Large amount of fluffy, off-white to light cream-colored head. Cookie taste. A very light, citrusy sourness: Orange. Nice but insubstantial flavors. Creamy taste. Improves upon multiple sips. Light body. Soft in the palate. Yet there is a sharp fizz in the back of the throat. Easy to drink. Seems like a smaller beer than it is, though not in a bad way.

My Bottom Line:
Heavy banana wheat bread flavors build this Weizenbock’s thick signature, while alcohol and clove-y phenolics add depth.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy head of foam covers the dark, cloudy golden.
-The soft, natural carbonation is not able to alleviate the relative heft of the mouthfeel.
-The cereal sweetness is honeyed at times.
-This is one expressive yeast, folks.
-This is a good, hearty Weizenbock, but I’d prefer better attenuation myself.

Bottle.

Yellow colored, strongly hazy appearance. Medium sized lasting white head. Strong banana in aroma with mild alcohol. Medium to full bodied. Flavor is dominated by strong banana and sweetness, aftertaste has mild alcohol notes and wheat comes up. Medium carbonation. Too sweet for my taste, still quite refreshing weizen.

Slayer85 (1051) - Firenze, ITALY - AUG 20, 2007
Bottled. An unclear orange beer with a big but collapsing white head. The aroma is wheaty and has notes of banana. Not enough "bocky" taste for a Weizen Bock but quite sweet with banana and cloves notes. Medium to full body, quite long aftertaste. A nice beer.

Bottle shared with Nosiriwont. Pours a cloudy golden colour with a big fairly well lasting white head. Aroma is sweet with lots of wheat, yeast and some banana. Good mouthfeel. Sofft and fresh wheat flavour with yeast, some sweetness, yeast and some banana. Good well lasting wheat finish.

KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - NOV 21, 2009
Bottle.
Pours a deep, cloudy lemon orange with an explosive aroma of banana and clove; litereally, after the bottle is opened, the aroma shoots into the nose. Flavor is a bit of a let-down, a watery banana finished off by blunt and boring clove. Nice mouthfeel. Overall, not too bad.
