0.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
Pale gold straw with a white head. No pepper, fruity malts, caramel, cardboard. Watery palate, tastes like Miller lite, big lack of pepper.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
11.2 oz bottle. Aroma consists of chili pepper and pale lager beer. Pours hazy pale gold with a medium white had that falls after a minute into a ring of foam; small chili pepper bobs around on top. Taste is spicy obviously, but there’s also a breadiness. The heat is pretty strong, but it’s not quite up there with Cave Creek or Stone’s Crime and Punishment; still, it’s leaving my lips burning. Body is thin, but the mouthfeel has a nice creaminess to it. Great chili beer for those who think Cave Creek and Crime and Punishment are too extreme, but still want some heat in their beer.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Ave Caesar, morituri te salutant. It’s at least a decent color, though there is no head. The nose is -- um -- you know those pickled peppers that are on the table at Steak n Shake? Yeah. Smells exactly like that. Or like cheap pepper jack cheese. Sweet up front, then no mid-palate, then just heat -- and not even much heat at that; I expected more heat from a serrano, frankly. It’s got some warmth, but the lack of any body behind either the pepper or the beer leaves the whole thing lacking. It’s better than other chili lagers I’ve had, but that’s like saying someone is better looking than Steve Buscemi. Finish is almost non-existent. Forgettable.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured a clear yellow color with not much head. Aroma has lots of chili pepper with some corn. Taste is pretty spicy for a beer with some good chili flavors. Not as bad as I thought it would be! Some creamy malty flavors go well with the chili. This would go well with mexican food. Overall not that bad.

33cl clear twist-off bottle. My says brewed in Tecate by Mexicana. Golden pour with pickled chili inside. Flavor and smell are chilies. Mouthfeel is watery and flat. Pretty poor.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle... Clear yellow lager with a fizzy, white head that’s gone in the blink of an eye. The aroma is as advertised - earthy chili pepper and potting soil. OK, so they’re not really pushing the “potting soil” aspect. Medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation and clean, peppery heat. Lengthy, earthy, tongue-throat and belly-warming finish. Actually, this is a cleanly-brewed beer. Nice base lager. Even at room temperature, there are no grainy, cloying, adjunct-laden notes. Just a lot of earthy chili pepper here. Surprisingly good.

Don’t like beer but was at a local eatery and someone suggested I try it...fell in love with it but cannot find it to buy :( . Called all over Michigan to stock up for Christmas but to no avail.

1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
This tastes like a sugary, cheap pale lager with a dollop of chili heat. The aroma is sweet and malty. Hops and grains seem to be entirely absent, and I’m not sure if it can really be called a beer. There was a chili pepper floating in the bottle, and at first I thought it was a bug. Thumbs down.
