2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle... Clear yellow lager with a fizzy, white head that’s gone in the blink of an eye. The aroma is as advertised - earthy chili pepper and potting soil. OK, so they’re not really pushing the “potting soil” aspect. Medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation and clean, peppery heat. Lengthy, earthy, tongue-throat and belly-warming finish. Actually, this is a cleanly-brewed beer. Nice base lager. Even at room temperature, there are no grainy, cloying, adjunct-laden notes. Just a lot of earthy chili pepper here. Surprisingly good.

Don’t like beer but was at a local eatery and someone suggested I try it...fell in love with it but cannot find it to buy :( . Called all over Michigan to stock up for Christmas but to no avail.

1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
This tastes like a sugary, cheap pale lager with a dollop of chili heat. The aroma is sweet and malty. Hops and grains seem to be entirely absent, and I’m not sure if it can really be called a beer. There was a chili pepper floating in the bottle, and at first I thought it was a bug. Thumbs down.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
gimmicky but you gotta like it. good Mexican style lager/pils it has springwater sweetness, cracker like malt and a bit of peppry hop. light fruit makes brew seem more golden and perhaps the hot green pepper helps the color. like a stronger flavored corona. pepper hits you high in the throat just strong enough and gives a contrast to a quenching and refreshing character. funky in a pretty decent way.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Tallahassee, Fl - New Leaf Market - 11.2 oz bottle. Pours a very pale golden with almost no head whatsoever with a floating pepper. Aroma is that of hot serrano chili peppers. Flavor is that of hot serrano chili pepper, a hint of olive juice. Pepper flavor is not overwhelming - just the right amount of heat. Mouthfeel is rather thin. Nice novelty.

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Smells like a taquito. Clear bottle, clear yellow beer, OK label, serrano chili floating around in there. Savory - a bit salty, a slow mild burn - but it’ll choke you every now and again. The vegetable aspects of the pepper really come through. Corny. Thin bodied. Probably better as marinade or spritz for burgers than it is to drink. New Leaf Market.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330 ml bottle. How does a beer from Mexico get distributed to Michigan and it hasn’t been rated? I picked this up because it has an actual serrano pepper in the bottle. Pours an ultra clear light orange color with no head or carbonation. Looks like a still mead. Not surprisingly, the aroma smells like a hot pepper. And it tastes like a hot pepper. But this isn’t really that bad. I just wish there was some carbonation here. It actually fairly smooth and the smokey pepper heat is not as strong as I expected but you wouldn’t want any more than this has. Mouthfeel is actually kinda oily too, probably from the pepper. Not too bad actually but you better like your hot peppers if you’re gonna try this.
